There are some reasons for some of these . For example worst goal accuracy . I went to training and Lonie was been played as a mid . The forwards broke off training to practice shots at goal but Lonie had to keep training with the mids where he was one of the standout players . But by the time the next game came around he was shoved in the forward pocket so he had no practice time shooting at Goals which makes it hard for him .

Brown disposal efficiency is so good because he usually handballs it to someone and doesn't have many disposals.

Most clangers per game Armo with 4 but he was playing with a bad groin for the few games he played early on this year so he could hardly kick the ball very far .

Worst efficiency Battle , he only had one game and looked very nervous so that's a bit hard on him.

One of the reasons Ross didn't stand out as the season went on , he started having lots more handballs than kicks . So lots of weeks he had 30 disposals but 15 to 20 of those were handballs . When he was at his most dangerous he had a lot more kicks than handballs . He is such a good kick he should be kicking more often unless the handball is definitely on.

Maybe Membrey should be playing closer to goals with all the contested marks he takes , especially equal to J Kennedy .

Great effort by Longer , I admit I was a critic of his early on but he has proved himself as our number one ruckman with 38.6 being third in the AFL and he is still only 24 I think so lots of room for improvement.

Most tackles by Steele 158 , 3rd in the AFL when you consider he had no running for preseason because of his broken foot you just wonder how good this guy is going to be with a full preseason behind him.

There that's my view on some of the stats.

Footywire had Roberton as 3rd in the comp for total kicks. 19th in total marks and bounces, 11th in intercept marks, 4th in rebound 50s etc.

Thanks Gringo, i must have had a Dylan filter switched on or something. Fixed it .

I always go on about it, but we don't have a really good contested ball winner.
Our best average around 10.
Apart from Danger, ( 18) the really good ball winners ( including Oliver ) have up around 15.

Steele is really the only one with potential to get to that level.

That was my take away as well. I had not realized we were that far behind.

Great stats.

Probably those states indicate that we are under-performing in a lot of areas, and our best is not up to scratch. We are a 75% team.

We started the year with an average 63 games of experience in the squad, =9th in the AFL. With the departures we've had so far this year, we drop to an average of 57 for our listed players, and probably will drop below that again with the upcoming FA/trade/draft period.

Stupid stat as Adelaide started the year with an average of 57 games of experience (but they also had 14 players yet to debut versus our 8). Probably more worthwhile to look at the median values for each list

They should do a stat for missed tackles. The amount of times opposition players ran through multiple tackles was infuriating.

Without looking at stats i can list a number of senior saints players that were well down on their expected output throughout the year.
Steven - carried injury.
Newnes - failed to reach normal impact most of the year.
Weller - carried injury. Way down on previous season output when in captaincy discussions.
Membrey - conversion problems most of season. Way down on previous season.
The lower output of those 4 throughout the season reflected where we ended up.
But these players are our leaders and i have no doubt they'll get over their injuries and back to their best for next year.

I doubt anyone on our list gets to that level, we're going to need a bunch of players averaging around 10-11 like the Giants do to have any chance.

Membrey's 2nd half of the year was incredibly consistent: in his last nine games he had 10-16 disposals, at least 4 marks and at least 2 goals in every game.

St Kilda are 10-2 in games where Membrey kicks at least 3 goals, with St Kilda being either in front or equal with 90 seconds to go in both losses.

Here's another one.

St Kilda finished 11th this season.

St Kilda vs top 4: 2-3 (Wins v Rich & GWS, losses to Rich, Adel & Geel)
St Kilda vs 5-10: 1-8 (Win v WCE, losses to WCE, Ess, Melb x 2, Syd x 2, PA, WB)
St Kilda vs 12-18: 8-0 (Wins v Haw, Coll, NM x 2, Frem, GC, Bris, Carl)

David Armitage , by 2010 had played 25 games, he had a handful of high contested possession games, 10,11,11,13. Bye 2013 he was averaging around 10.

Josh Kennedy, by 2009 had played 13 games with 2 games hitting 14 contested possessions. The following year he played 24 games where he had 3 games with 17 contested possessions. The following season he averaged nearly 15.

Steele at the start of the season had played 17 games , one with 16 contested possessions.
Now he's played 37 games and has had added a 17 and 20 contested possession game.

Not saying he's a lock, but he's got potential to do it more often and i think he HAS got potential to be that 15 contested possession per game player.

I'm not sure where i'd find out ( without going through it manually ) but i wouldn't think there are many players who have demonstrated that they can get 20 contested possessions at the age of 21, who don't go on to show that they can do a lot more.

Hey guys, pardon the intrusion on your board but I was seeking some help for a very good friend of mine who’s a keen saints man (and his young son). I’m seeking the official team sheets for two saints games from late last season, round 21 Vs Melbourne & round 23 Vs Richmond, both matches were played at the MCG.

These must be the official AFL sheets with final team lineups, coaches, umpires, doctors, trainers etc names on them. The reason this is significant is these were his son’s first two matches that he attended and his wife’s Aunty was a trainer for these matches. He wants to scrapbook these for the future. Unfortunately he, nor I know where to look or how to obtain these documents or if they’re available to the public, any help would be much appreciated. Cheers guys, good luck for 2018!

strange you would dig up a thread from September to ask this question ...
to answer your question i dont believe these are made public and would be "filed away" by the AFL

Sorry mate. Wasn’t sure where to post it, but was certain I didn’t want to create a cr@p thread on your board. I do have some respect
