People are over-reacting. You want holes in the seats because of water? How about just lifting the seat to the upright position - water will fall to the ground. Unless you mean if you're sitting on it? Water's gonna be on you and with any type of decent coat will fall to the wayside.

The legroom is average. In any stadium it's similar. Complete over-reaction.

Queues are always gonna be there. Thousands of people sit to watch a game - of course they get up when the game is on break. There are queues at the MCG and Etihad too.

Oh dear, massive rows... oh you mean to fit more seats in there? So now we should rip them up and have LESS capacity because you feel bad about squeezing past people.

And you seriously going to complain about electronic signage? Really?

Some of these complaints are seriously reaching....
youre either lieing about being to other grounds recently (such as the MCG or Etihad), or you are in bed with the WAFC who want to keep us at Subiaco Oval rather than a new stadium.

I never realised just how bad Subiaco oval was until last year when i visited the 2 Melbourne stadiums. I saw Collingwood play St Kilda with 80k people, and the biggest queue for a toilet or a food/drink would have been about 6 people long - easily enough time to get back to my seat before the 2nd quarter started. And when the game was over, 80,000 poeple all exited the stadium without breaking stride or stopping. Compare that to Subiaco where it takes 10 minutes to get out with 40,000 people. God help us if we had a fire emergency evacuation.

The Etihad stadium is great. I sat in the front row of a grandstand on the wing, and you are much closer to the ground than those stands at Subiaco oval. You arent squashed in like sardines there compared to Subi either. Evelyn you would be about 1 in a thousand who thinks the current Subi oval is up to standard...

Etihad has always been known as the people's stadium to watch footy at, just very close to the game.

Etihad is brilliant. Massive walkways, great seating, toilets and food everywhere...10 times the stadium Subiaco is. The only issue with Docklands is the crowd dispersion outside the ground.

Being from Melbourne I am rather spoiled and have the luxury of Etihad and the MCG. Both magnificent grounds have people have said, not a bad seat, easy to get out and transport from the grounds is great (Etihad with Southern Cross Station is brilliant, especially for me since I live in Melton) My mother is a Freo supporter and have gone to the Eagle's home derby last year and this year. Last year we were in the third tier stand and I have gotta say it gives you a very claustrophobic feeling, and getting out is ridiculously hard with a large crowd. This year I was in the stand with the benches and it had to be the most uncomfortable viewing experience ever. I have long legs aswell so I was sitting there incredibly cramped. I think I kneed some guy in the head once or twice aswell. I didn't dare get anything to eat either, I was going to, but then saw how long the bloody line was. Upon going to the station, I don't think I moved for 20 minutes because it was that backed up. It is a big novelty for me obviously but it makes me appreciate Etihad and the MCG so much more.

That's funny. Even with all the extra leg room at the MCG, I still managed to get kneed in the back of the head a couple times two weeks ago when I was sitting in a nest of Magpies. :D

hahaha that's unlucky :p... Funnily enough same thing has happened to me before, some Richmond supporter kneed me in the back of the head when I was young. I think it was the game in 06 where we smashed them at the MCG, bastard didn't even apologize. Probably annoyed that we were whipping them :D

I liked how sunny Subiaco was in retrospect, Optus is pretty shadowy and grey
It’s weird at Optus some food and drink stands have long long queues but if you walk 100 m you can find one without many people
Subiaco bench seating was an absolute ball ache and at the time was desperate to say sayonara
