Aim: Acquire the best overall team for 2006. Skill, structure, 2006 form and fitness will be the main criteria for assessment. Note that a player's worth will be assessed solely on their form in 2006, not what they were worth last year or 5 years down the track: for example Murphy will be Rising Star quality, not Brownlow and Kosi won't be worth anything if he is injured all year again. Player assessments will therefore be speculative.
Method: All players currently on AFL lists and those nominated in National and Pre-Season Drafts will be available. The teams are complete fantasy, so there's no concern over personalities or loyalties. M Carr can play with Lovett-Murray. The draft will reverse its sequence every second round:
First Round: Carlton, Dons ... Sydney, West Coast
Second Round: West Coast, Sydney ... etc etc
I think we can accomodate a large number of teams, so long as everyone is willing to stay in for the long haul. If you will be unavailable around the time of your pick, please PM someone (me, if you wish) your preference list for that pick. Please keep an eye out for when it is your turn. 24 hours would be the longest we'd want to wait ideally, otherwise the draft could last until halfway through the season.
