I need some tunes for a summer playlist. Can be any ere/genre, e.g. I have music ranging from Foster the People-Taylor Swift-Soundgarden-Hilltop Hoods-Elton John-Arctic Monkeys-Vampire Weekend.

Does anyone have any fave songs that have a summer vibe to them?

Mr Twin Sister - In The House of Yes
New Order - All the Way

Pavement - Gold Soundz
Together - Together

Some of my favourites, from the top of my head:

Summer Madness - Kool & The Gang
Express Yourself - N.W.A.
It Was A Good Day - Ice Cube
Bastards of Young - The Replacements
Amos Moses - Jerry Reed
China Cat Sunflower - Grateful Dead
Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf
Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf
Before Too Long - Paul Kelly
What's My Scene - Hoodoo Gurus
I Love A Rainy Night - Eddie Rabbit
Good Ass Intro - Chance The Rapper
Shimmy Shimmy Ya - Ol' Dirty Bastard

EDIT:

Also, look at the soundtracks of any of the Tony Hawk games. I know that sounds weird, but I remember those soundtracks always having a 'summer' feel and they're well put together.

I always tend to play George Michael's album Faith a lot in early December, always seems to be an album that ushers in summer for me. Definitely one of those albums that has its time in the year for me. I also play a lot of jazz and big band like Sinatra during those warm evenings.

For beach/party atmospheres, any playlist of pop music summer hits from my childhood will do, anything that gets into the summer moods of my childhood.
