I don’t think there’s a spot for him as a senior coach. He may crack a secondary coaching job but would he want it?

Which contender will be advantaged if we manage to fit in rounds 7 and 8 and then go into a final series .
The lock down conditions at the moment will prohibit players traveling from Melbourne etc.
 
All over Red Rover...Shame really, was building towards a cracker of a finals series.... I wonder how many will get to pre-season 2022 and just say **** it, what's the point...

They’re all set (I presume) to relocate to the new complex in 2022.. I think Imperials will move to Souths old oval.

It’s on the corner of 16th and Deakin Avenue. It’s a multi sport set up ,basketball etc. I reckon they may find it a littl hard initially,without their own social rooms etc. There will be a bit of sharing of facilities which makes life just that little bit more difficult, I think they’ll manage but it will be a bit of extra work for all concerned.

Is the November clearance window still operating .i haven’t seen any leagues using it as yet. Perhaps it shows that we won’t see a lot of player movement next season.
Nothing happening in Sunraysia?
 
With no early clearances operating this year it’s hard to gauge the fortunes of any club. Facebook pages seem to be an available source plus the pub.
Mildura seem to have a few coming in and Irymple have picked up a few returning and a couple of good recruits as for the others we’ll have to wait.
 
Well it appears we are not going to have access to clearances via the new arrangements.
Does anyone know of any that in already .
Merbein seem to be very proactive already.
 
What is the reserves comp looking like this year around the area? Has Covid impacted many clubs ability to put teams on the park? What about Numbers wise, behaviour, consistency, etc?

Who knows, several clubs have struggled for numbers during preseason, what is known is old timers and hangers on generally chip in to make up the numbers, and that is what club footy is about...

Looking at the Ressies sides over Easter ,Irymple seem to be strong again. They had at least a couple of good seniors out . Coved can wipe out the reserves pretty easily but that will apply to all sides so there could be some upsets.

Really concerned about U18 footy right now, Imps have pulled their team from the competition due to numbers, this does not look good for the Clubs future.
 
Despite having five quality senior players out Irymple managed a good win over Robinvale in both Seniors and Ressies. They seem to be able to come up with some good locals coming through from their juniors. Just like Imp and Mildura did for years .
Imps now don’t have the juniors coming through and Mildura ( how many U 18 flags have they won in the last 20 years ) don’t seem to keep them. I know kids go away to uni etc but you only have to retain a couple each year.

Spot on about Mildura U18s, very well coached and prepared for senior football. I was an observer through parts of that period, and their systems, mentoring, coaching was second to none. They did lose a lot year after year to Uni, work, etc....I had the core core group of 2010-2012 winning senior flags if they could retain them into the Senior competition of the SFNL....what might have been...
 
Plenty of chat locally about the Nick Mee tackle on Sam Brinsmead, the injury and subsequent suspension (2 weeks). Merbein challenged the automatic 2 weeks, seeking 8 weeks is my understanding. Saw the tackle, it was almost too perfect with Sam fracturing vertebrae when landing with Mee on top of him, along with a concussion. Brimma is a great kid, really feel for him and hope he recovers well. 2 weeks was the most likely outcome...
 
I haven’t been able to get all the scores for the weekend has playhq broken down. I can’t get the result of the Irymple v Red Cliffs game.
