Excuse how many I have but here goes:
Backs - Gram, Kennelley, Hunt, Ladson, Sheppard from WC as a rookie (big wraps).
Mids-Kerr, Burgoyne, Cotchin???, Trengove and Martin as rookies.
Rucks-Ottens but risky as to how many games he'll play, Hille, Warnock, Trengove as a rookie.
Fwds-Franklin, Murphy, Ziebell, Watts and Gumbleton as rookies subject to him playing.

You got lots of risks here mate. A couple risks is good but your whole team is a big risk and you would need the planets to align for everything to work out.

Here are my comments:
Kennelley - in and out of swans side during 2007 and 2008 with injury. Reports suggest last year he was healthy but would have to be a bit rusty. But at his price, maybe worth the punt.

Sheppard - Midfield is the only place I would consider starting a rookie in 2010 (and maybe tapscott in forward line), but i dont like any rookie defenders. Sheppard is a good bench option but not a starter.

Kerr - had a shocker last year with lots of injuries and the eagles poor form showed through his scores. He has struggled I think since Judd and Cousins left. Now he cops the number one tag (between him and Priddis). Seems to be training well but 90% of players train well this time of year. Not worth the risk.

Burgoyne - see Kerr. Couldnt get on the park last season. Even had trouble bending over to pick up the ball last season. Having said that, many people I know will pick him and he may prove to be a big find.

Cotchin - seems to be injury prone. Probably wouldnt touch him either until he proves his body can stay healthy.

Trengrove and Martin - i think both will play 15+ games this year. Good options.

Hille - coming back from injury and my concern here is you have guy whos reconstructed knee needs to get through 22 games under a 201cm, 111kg body.

Murphy - coming back from injury. Dodgy knees.

Ziebell - awesome talent. Reminds me of hird a little but needs to learn how to manage his body. Another player who is injury prone.

Watts - I dont think there are many key position players in forward or defence who dominate within their first 3 years. There are some exceptions - Kruzer and Tippet. But key position players I think should always be premiums. Small forwards and defenders (or guys who play as a second tall in defence) generally go much better and adjust to the game, namely because they already have the speed, where as key position players require size and they generally dont have it when they are around 18 or 19 yrs old. Watts will still take a couple years I think.
Gumby - No way. He almost needs a walking frame. Just cannot stay on the park.

Sorry to be negative mate but seriously, you seem to love players coming back from injury. As I said, ok for one or two, but a whole team of them wont get you in the SC finals in your league.

Schoenmakers. at 196 would expect to play majority of 010 with comments (refer to Hawks board.)

It's a shame he can't score higher than 65 though.

Spot on. Im all for picking up mid priced players but they have to prove that they are capable of a few big scores in amongst their 50s and 60 from the season before. Then its just a question of consistency because they've proven they can do it. Schoenmakers unfortunately falls into that category. There are other mid-priced players who are stronger candidates to be the higgins of 2010.

True this - if he plays the lock-down defender role all year you can expect that trend to continue. Really effective when he has it, and has great goal sense but it's unlikely he'll be at that end of the ground.

If he plays that end of the ground that probably means Buddy or Roughy's hurt... I would think, especially with the shape of Hawthorn's backline - they can't afford to send a guy who can play a lockdown role down the other end of the ground (especially with the two champs at that end).

If Jamison stays healthy for my Carlton team and Schoey plays in a lockdown role all year I'd be interested in seeing who posts the better supercoach numbers.

I considered Schoey but went with Jamo on my team. Both having very attractive salaries.

Its a risk to get buddy as he is out for round 1.

Not that big a deal it is one game out of 22. Unless you're going for the overall it doesn't matter. It's like getting drummond or ablett you know they'll miss games but you want 'em anyway

You can drop players between weeks, right?

How much do you think the price on Buddy will climb between week 1 and 2?

Is it too much to ask for Mumford and Warnock to put in 70 point games week in week out?

My worry with this pair is that they will average 70 points week in week out.

TOTAL :D

May be better to go a proven ruck with a rookie.

Mumford is no good in Sydney's low posession style of play. He got OK numbers at Geelong because there was so much of the footy going around, don't expect it to be the case at Sydney.

His price won't change until he's played his 3rd game.
Dodgy pick to start as not only does he miss the assumed so called easy game against Melbourne in rd 1 but then when he returns he plays against Geelong, Bulldogs and Collingwood.
I'll see where he's at after the Bulldogs game before I decide whether he gets a gig in my team.

Waters is still injured isn't he? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Also Rhys Palmer at 307,000 ain't bad for a recent rising star winner.

Clangers kill you in Super Coach...

I'd wait to watch Palmer in the NAB to see if he has improved in that area first. If so - he gets plenty of it so yeah, a good pick.

Ziebell broke his leg..?? Would have played close to 18-20 games if it wasn't for that injury.. hardly a case of missing games due to being injury prone.

Roger Hayden - 314k injured for a lot of last year, very injury prone but gets games and can score high if he can string a few games together.

Mark Williams - 303k he will get much more of a go at the bombers, and if the dons are goin to be succesfull then he will be a part of it. Kicked 60+ goals twice with the hawks, a steal at his price.

Ivan Maric - 288k forget mumford, white or seaby this guy is the best value at this price. Is a first string ruck at a team that likes to run and carry, hopefully will break out this year and average 75-80.

Brock McLean - 425k will not get tagged this year in the blues stellar midfield, a highly talented player that could go up in price greatly. a risk but one worth taking at his mid to high range price.

Dunno. You tell me.. :D

From what I saw of him last year (Very little), he looked a good prospect. Another year under teh belt and he might go OK. Remember, we're talikng bargains here. If you can get him at $250k and he starts to show a bit (And Melbourne won't play any worse than they did last year), there's the potentioal from him to be a >$400k + player.....

But you might know more about him then me... so feel free to divulge...

Leuenberger at $245,000 is a bargain. Surely he and Mitch Clark will keep the aging Jamie Charman out.

Only God or Vossy knows at this point. I'm backing Charman for round 1 personally.
