For all he has done for the club over the years, I thought it was the least that I could do, that I could pick his name in a readers' poll in the hsun for favourite tv people.

I know its not strictly footy related but the more successful Eddie is as a tv personality, the more likely he's going to stay in his current arrangement where he can represent the interests of the club.

Although I cant speak for all Collingwood people, I just think that most are huge Eddie fans and cant thank the guy enough for not only leading us to a premiership, but remaking the club into an organisation that is setting the agenda in coaching, training and recruitment.

Unfortnately, you can't pick Eddie as sexiest tv personality...

You can vote for Eddie twice (well actually 3 times, but one is negative), for Favourite Aussie TV Personality and Fav Aussie TV Presenter.

Also while you're there, under the "biggest TV Gripe" section, please vote for the "Lack of Live Sport" option, just to send a message to Channel 7 and the AFL.

yes, I agree with Matty on the live sport thing. Speaking as a WA Magpie, I have to admit that Pie supporters are pretty lucky here as most of our games are on 7 or 10. Usually both channels are only concerned with the Beagles and Dogterds but they do screen Pie games most of the time because we're so damn popular and because the matches are usually high profile. Of course, we miss out when the Pies play the same time as the other WA clubs.

BBBut...I think things are changing uner the new arrangements. I got a feeling that Foxtel is going to skim the Pie games in the non-Victorian states because they wont be protected by gov't legislation. West Australians are only concerned that their two teams remain free to air...

Pretty sure I read that now interstate channels can now show the AFL live on their 2nd/3rd channels instead of having late night replays, but I'm not sure if that was just NSW and QLD.

I don't know what TV coverage you have got but in 2010 the only way that we could see either of the Pies v Cats H&A games (on the same day)was to find a pub that took the NT TV coverage. Hang on I got that wrong, the second such game had a replay at 23:59.

magpiewarrior...yup we did miss the odd Pie game in WA because of WA-related games but I think we got it pretty good considering the situation of other teams. I have a mate who supports North who never see them on TV except when they play the two local sides. Another mate follows St. Kilda and he had to buy foxtel to see them. With foxtel getting more games, it's going to make it harder to follow the Pies for free.
