Surely Cale Morton must be named in the starting 22 come round 1!

From what i have heard and read on him he is a skillful tall winger/ forward type.He killed it in the intra club match and apparently had 25 disposals vs richmond the other day in the nab challenge. It would be criminal for melbourne to not blood this kid in the fashion the hawks did with Franklin & Roughead with the beginings of their AFL career!

The kid will benefit tenfold from the fast tracked development as i beleive the VFL standard will do nothing to enhance his game! The coaching staff should also follow this rule with other players like petterd, buckley and the like.

What do you all think? Even though the dees are not in a full rebuilding stage they must blood the youngsters now or face the consequences later down the track.

To be honest, I don't want to see him get a place in our side just to fast-track him. Remember he has played one practice game and is still very skinny. I have no problem with him being in the side if during the next 2 games he tears it up, but a spot by default I'm not too keen on, especially at the start of the year with everyone fit.

I'd be more keen for players like Dunn, Buckley, Petterd, Bartram to get the nod before Morton. I'm expecting these guys to shine this year, especially Dunn who could very well be anything. Morton will get his chance this year, I don't see the need to rush him in.

where will morton eventually play?

is he tall enough for a Key posi spot?

i hope his not going to be up as a medium - tallish sorta player, we have so many of them....rivers, wheatly, carroll, bruce, dunn, bate, warnock, bell and robbo to an extent.

and how big is frawley will be tall and big enough in time to play on players such as hall n co

I don't think we need to fast-track Morton. Let him take his time, learn the ropes in a successful team environment at Sandringham, and then step up when the time is right.

Just write a little letter to Dean Bailey and tell him how much you want to win your dream team league this year and he might do it haha

He needs to put on some muscle first. He won't survive long without getting absolutely polaxed.

Robbie Flower survived 272 games of footy and was skinny as a rake. I played senior footy as a 17 yr old and was only a lightwieght. I kno this is AFL but the blokes in local are still just as big and hit just as hard. Look at Dale Thomas heaps of skill and flair but only a skinny bloke and he plays very good footy.

If he earns he spot he should play regardless of size.

Good point but i still think Flower had the neccessary time to develop. We're talking about a kid in his very first year of AFL, expected to play Round 1 of his first season. Maybe for a player that is physically ready but i think Cale needs time.
