Swans Forecast 2010

Last 2 weeks have given us better insight for 2010:
1. Swans are a good combination of old and young - with great potential;
2. This combination is still young - 2months old;
3. Injuries have hit us hard early;
4. In 2 months time, ther should be enough progress to challenge the top 4 teams - over 4 quarters, not just 3.

One further point- in games against Victorian teams, we will be slaughtered by the umpires time and time again. They have a mindset - and it is very difficult to over come against the top teir tems.

In saying this, I am confident we will beat Freo because they ar not Victorian.

I go on about the umps a bit too much but mate their is no conspiracy against any team. Every ground where the supporters are in greater number can influence the odd holding the ball decision.

What you can cop is a run of umps who consistently call questionable decisions due to their interpretation like getting a balding umpire five weeks in a row.

I'm going to make an effort to drop bitching about umps after every loss. They weren't too bad Saturday overall. Just beaten by a stronger running side with better match ups and consistency of possessions over the whole team.

My Forecast is that we are one win away from self belief and jurno praise. Just hope its this week against a team that drops under constant pressure. I ignore the Collingwood game and look at the Brisbane game. When Brisbane turned on the pressure or the kind of pressure a team of Brisbanes ability is capable at their devlopment then Fremantle almost laid down allowing a comeback.

This is the game I'd be setting myself for as a Swans player. Suits the Swans style of play at the SCG my only worry is that little Milne like Balantyne guy.

Anyway enough of me derailing another thread off topic.

You cant just choose to ignore games just because it doesnt suit your opinion. Freo have been excellent all year, for 4 quarters. We would be foolish to consider them the Freo of 2009 and before...

Look out for a tough game, i'm not expecting them to lay down. They have a point to prove, and we will need to be at our best to put that point to rest.

I'm not ignoring Collingwood to suit my opinion I'm giving insight by as close a comparison game I can make to our team. I've seen every game Fremantle have played this year and I have no disilusion about how good they are. I just noticed that when Brisbane went hard at them and tackled and pressured them they fell to pieces. I'm suggesting if we do the same we are a chance if we serve up last Saturdays game then game over.
