No one has mentioned Darren Jolly yet.

He kicked the 1st goal in the our premiership win and he wore the number 16.
And his wife acted like a 16 year old when she cost us a grand final in 2006, and dragged him to Melbourne. At quarter time of the grand final that Mrs Jolly lost, we trailed by 16 points. We also had 16 less tackles than West Coast for the match, and in ruck contests Jolly lost 16 hitouts to Cox

great work Fu, good idea for a thread over summer pick a random number and come up with, um.. stuff.

another one for you the number the first Sydney coach wore when he was captain at South.

If you add Mumford (41) and subtract Keiran Jack (15) and Josh Kennedy (12) which is this years best and Fairest you get Craig Bird (14) which isnt 16... Unlucky 16 :)

FFS.
HISTORY NOT HYSTERICS!!:o

How come we don't own a 1916 Premiership Flag then?

WTF.
This is a dossier on a numbers deity!
Not a synopsis of a singular season!

Didn't he take a year or two off between playing & becoming an assistant ?

He coached Canada to victory over the US :footy:. They wear RED & WHITE alright!

There were 22 players in our Premiership team. 22 expressed in hexadecimal form is 16.

Spooky eh ?

Sixteen years ago we had draft picks 21 and 40 FFS!

21. Mathew Nicks
40. Micky O - The Magic Man.:thumbsu:

Sweet 16:diamond: strikes again you slobs.

Sydney was colonised in 1788. The first time a Sydney based AFL team made a Grand Final was in 1996.

So that took 208 years....or to put it another way: 13 times 16!!!!!

Paul Kelly switched from League to Aussie Rules in 1984. 16 years later he debuted for the Swans in 1990.

Co-incidentally in 1990 I was 16 years old.

16 years later in 2006 we made a Grand final and I was 32 which is 16 multiplied by two...um..whatever!!! Yay!!!

This is fun. I love arbitrarily discounting all information that doesn't suit my purposes, and including only the data that supports them.

Go numerology!! :D

*yes. It is a slow work day for me today*
