A bit early but James Bell could turn this team into a nightmare for other clubs - give us that extra edge on the outside around the ground especially the middle. Jetta 2.0 in the making.
Actually likely to be better than Jetta. Beautiful skills and anticipation. Played him in the entre in the ressies, which I see as a vote of confidence from the coaches. Watch him carefully, but remember he's still a kid.

Credit where credit's due. They both played their role really well. I'm particularly impressed with Towers attack on the ball and his second efforts. Doesn't always get a clean first touch but he always follows up.
Sinclair got 6 clearances AFTER rucking. Absolutely BoG for mine. Towers really playing his role. Even Harry has been useful. With Florent and Hayward coming good it's a bit hard to see others getting a game except through injury.

He had an excellent first quarter, then mostly faded out. Not his worst game by a mile but at the end of his career we'll all be saying "what might have been".

The run bursting out of the goal square when the contest was tight was special and some of his tackles or pressure acts very good. He gets a pass when he kicks important goals but those numbers without goals don't win too many fans

Second this! Would be all for him making an appearance in the seniors this season if the opportunity arose.

A lot of what he did was conditional on Kennedy too. Kicked a goal at an important time is always really aggressive at the ball and his kick to hit up Hayward was great but I agree he was pretty anonymous for some big sections.

I thought that too at the game but his stats were better than my impression. As for his celebration, all the guys were seriously pumped for this game. Sinclair looked like he was ready to run through a brick wall. TBH I thought that was the big difference between the two teams, along with our (mostly!) accuracy.

might be time to come to terms with hanners as just an average player. he's been below his best for too long now.

really like apply but he costs us with his stupidity and doesn't seem to cop it like jones does.

really liked haywards game. did some nice things in the midfield.

don't understand all the dropped chest marks.

That is what he has become. He used to be a very good player never a superstar because of his elite endurance ability to be able to run end to end. Injury has killed that. Courage and ball winning ability was also a massive part of this. The courage is still there and he can win enough football but without that endurance and his deplorable kicking you are right he well could be just an average footballer now. Having said that even though he is not at his once high level he has a place in the 22 but keep in mind his poor decision making at times and poor foot skills are going to hurt from time to time. His courage and passion for his team and team mates will always see me back him though I must say.

Hannebery is a superstar. Eighteen months ago he was winning his third All Australian selection and narrowly losing out to JPK for the Bob Skilton medal. Let's not get it confused like we're talking about a guy who had a few good seasons and that's it. This is a bloke who was BOG in a winning grand final side, and then backed it up with four consecutive years of quality footy where he was one of the best mids in the comp. He's been poor to start the year off a limited pre-season, and he was clearly playing laboured last year (**** you for that Horse)

Why don't we give him the benefit of the doubt that he's a future legend of this club and he'll turn his form around. He's only 27, and great players like him don't just stop becoming great.

**** me, Hanners has a bad season (by his high standards) and a slow start - after a delayed preseason while also coming back from injury - and you're all ready to write off his career? He's suddenly an average player who will never reach the same heights as he has in the past? Last season, despite it being so average he had a purple patch of 6 games average 30 disposals (round 8-14). He's carrying an injury right now but he'll get back to full fitness soon, he'll get back to his damaging best

Half a Nat Fyfe. Hayward is skinny as but plays well above his weight. Hard as nails.

I like Hayward because I don't get any vibes of another player from him. To me he could be anything. I hope Horse doesn't confine him to following a mould. His attributes are pretty diverse and far-ranging. I'd like him to just roam the ground and try and create/impact contests wherever he can, be it at centre stoppages, in the back-line, or closer to our goals. But for now, while he's still young and will float in and out of the season, just having him (as well as O Flo) in the side will prove very beneficial for the years that will follow.

Whos writing him off, just looks sore

Oh i see someone is . Would say most think he just needs to get back to full fitness, its the difference between a very good player and a superstar

He is a superstar but he was dragged through 20+ games of football last year where he was clearly injured. Not a player in the competition could do that and produce anywhere near their best. If it was one game where he was injured at quarter time and came back out, you'd back him to still deliver. But not week in week out with no chance of recovering or improving. Irresponsible coaching last year consistently selecting him and I said it then as well.

Yep but we see enough to know he is a champ, but played sore and out of position at times imo

Yeah agreed. He's one of our very best soldiers. Fun to take the piss out of whenever he reacts to a bump or a cramp but in all seriousness he's copped it probably more than anyone.

And 2014 onwards hawks started everyone targeting him and trying to smash him into oblivion to shut him down

Just to be slightly critical of bud for a change, wish he would stop trying to get the handball off the guy having a shot when there is no space, not many have the confidence to say no to him, maybe only papley

Fyfe was only a rake when he started too.

If anything I reckon Fyfe's gone a little OTT with the body-building. Saw him live twice now and he's still a total gun but looks less agile than in his Brownlow year. Could just be his injuries over the years effecting him.

I agree, can't fault his competitiveness though.

I've seen Lloyd say no to Buddy a few times, but he has every right to tbf
