syncing ipod touch clock with computer

Hi , another ipod touch question.

Was hoping to sync the ipod touch clock with my computers clock or some other accurate clock through itunes perhaps. I know i can set the clock manually but this does not set the time to the second. Would prefer to do it without an app, since this is a touch with limited contact with wifi connection.

ps i have googled and it seems as though it should automatically update the time when it syncs with itunes however this does not happen.
