Don't pick him for supercoach. For a start you don't want key position defenders in your side because they don't score much typically. Lonergan has not shown that he's up to AFL scratch in the last 2 games... I think they'll use Harley and Scarlett to take the opposition talls... Milburn to chip in depending on match ups.

There is much better value on cheaper players in teams who are developing not teams who are a genuine flag chance.

I've got Scarlett, harley, egan and ablett in my supercoach.
I've also got Tommahawk as an emergency, what do u guys reckon?

not good.

Harley is hardly supercoach material. Not that he's a bad defender but he just isn't going to get the sort of points that would warrent picking him, he is also getting on and I'd be suprised if he plays the full 22 rounds. As for Egan, having him in your starting 22 would be sheer madness considering his foot injury.

Can we put an end to this ridiculous supercoach/dreamteam rubbish? Nearly every comment has some sort of reference to these absurd competitions, which are just yet another revenue source, no value add vehicle for NewsCorp.

Mate, i could not care less how your supercoach team shapes up or how many points Tom Lonergan gets for standing on the mark in the last minute of a ten goal win over Adelaide at Geelong or whether you spend a Sunday evening pondering why you didn't put David Mundy in for Pascoe Vale United.

Play away by all means but get a room, or a private league.

...that attitude isn't going to win you the dreamteam first prize.

Bulletproof you are hardly that. If you do not like a thread dont post on it a no brainer really. No offence taken though. Cheers :)

Cheers mate, it's my first year doing supercoach as you can probably tell.

I was just looking for player that i thought would be worth more than their listed price, gotta change the way i think about it i guess.

There are probably better places to ask. But this is a Geelong related question so I don't mind.

I would not be taking any of Lonergan, Eagan or Harley. They just are not point scoring type players (even when Eagan is fit). Hawkins could also be a risk as he may not play, still has much to improve on and Geelong won't rely/need him to kick bags regularly (still looking to Mooney for this). Scarlett is a great pick though.

Pardon my ignorance on the matter, but i was under the impression that Tommy lonegan would be used up forward as a more ready replacement then Tomahawk. Didn't he kick a good bag in the magoos flag last year?

He can play at either end, conventional wisdom is that he's more likely to appear in defence to replace Egan, but yeah it'll depend on Tomahawk's form. I'd be surprised though if Tomahawk didn't play at least say 15 games of the home and away season, and he's a good chance to play all of them.
