which do you buy if any?

I alternate really, but if i was stuck with only 1 all year, i'd probably go the tabloid, the only reason being they have a bigger sports section. They are a little 'light on' for facts though.

Depends,
at home with my breakfast (where there's a big table) the broadsheet) but on the bus/train the tabloid cos it's small.. you have to share your broadsheet with the person on your left and right if you try to read it on the train :D

Tabloid-sized, as opposed to tabloid in content, as the papers in Melbourne tend to be sometimes.

And it's true about broadsheets such as The Age, too cumbersome to read properly and gracefully. It seems wider than the average human's wingspan, that doesn't seem right.

The Age newspaper, in a desperate desire to increase its falling membership (increased sport and celeb news, more food and fashion coverage for the affluent classes), has gone increasingly downmarket and become a pale imitation of a tabloid newspaper like the Herald Sun.

Take away the structure of the newspapers, the content is relatively similar.

The Herald-Sun is a shining example of the old adage that "no-one ever went broke appealing to the lowest common denominator".

They proclaim themselves as "Melbourne's paper" - well God help us all because if that is representative of the general Melbourne population then we're screwed.

Read an opinion column by Kerry Cue or Andrew Bolt, or another 'hard-hitting' Mike Sheahan column for proof.

My pet hate is journalists in the HS referring to another Herald-Sn journalists opinions as if they are a newsworthy item in their own right. For example "So-and-so is the best ruckman in the comp which is a massive improvement from the start of the year when Mike Sheahan had him a 94 in his top 100".

News for dummies.

I usually get both, but for convenience (like on the bus in the morning) I prefer a tabloid even if the quality is not always there. The papers I take are:

Tabloid: The Advertiser

Broadsheet: The Australian , and if I can get it on the same day in Adelaide The Sydney Morning Herald .
