Anyone no how the cannons are shaping up cos top age boys are extra tall this year
A bit of a random thread to lift...Cannons have an intra club on Sunday morning I believe if anyone is desperate enough to see some footy.

Can never write the Cannons off. They had a fair bit of height last year, there must have been some growth spurts over summer for them to have extra tall top agers. Angus is the giant of the group, Grenfell gets another gig as a 19 yr old, Talia should play a few Cannons games, Allouch has height...who else?

My watch player is Jason Williams. In the Vic Metro squad at the moment. I thought he finished off 2010 well, only played 8-10 games for the season, averaged good numbers across the board and looked promising. Hopefully he goes on with it this season.

Hadn't realised that Grenfell had officially been kept on, but I'm glad to hear it. I was surprised he wasn't picked up last year - he's certainly got loads of potential.

Cannons talls look impressive. Grenfell and Talia should take another step up, Angus was good when I saw him early last season (probably better than Ned Daniher who ended up rucking out the year for them), and I assume Joe Daniher will get a reasonable amount of game time (he's in the VM squad as well). Not quite so sure about their mids - most of the 2010 midfield was playing as underagers in 09, I don't think there's quite so smooth a succession plan this time around. Williams is certainly talented, but they'll be hoping blokes like him and Hunter can turn themselves from promising bit players and halfbacks into regular 20-plus-touch starting midfielders. But I wouldn't put it past them to do it, or find another gun from somewhere. Like you say, never, ever write the Cannons off...
