our tackling has been crap for some time......definately worthy of a PS workshop at the AIS to see if we can find out the reason why.

We are not the worst, Richmond is and then us.

What annoys me most is that we don't punish mistakes. When we have them under the pump they are still able to ge the handball away.

I started a thread about this a while ago.

A few years ago now, my cousin who was in the State Rugby side and had trials at a few NRL clubs, went down there with a few teammates to try and give them some pointers.

He couldn't believe how soft the tackles were. Said that the techniques most of the guys used were very average.

It's a serious issue.

Last year we were one of the best tackling teams in the comp so what has changed over the course of one year?

The club has stopped doing the competitive tackling drills at training this year as we already have enough injuries and they didn't want to create anymore.

It is really showing that we are being brushed off too easily for the simple reason that we don't train for that any more. Catch 22 situation really.

it's a simple thing, people make "observations" all the time: sometimes the official stats suggest what they saw wasn't right. nothing's going to change that our tackling was one of the best for the season. sorry.

That most effective tackling happens at stoppages and with a low effective tackle count there isn't much going on around the ground.

Mattner is in the back lines Bode is not in the team, basically why it's going to hell as well as having new players in the middle who's tackling you can't really rate highly. It's normally one vs too many also, our players not having the go-with stamina or simply are flooding back instead of challenging for the ball.
I didn't catch the game today probably a good thing.

Has been a LOT better in recent weeks
