Should the cats try and experiment a bit to get a win and risk a blow out if they lose or should they pretty much concede and go for a small loss. Now that the Hawks have lost, Geelong would have to lose by a combined total of around 160 points over the next two matches to fall behind the Hawks. Keep Brisbane conatined and we will be a certainty to be ahead of the Hawks. Lose to Brissie by 80+ points and we are in the poo.

The other problem of course is WCE. Should they beat PA at home this week (50/50) or the Kangas next week (2 to 1), then they will be challenging us by being equal on points and of a similar percantage. There is an incredibly small difference of 0.012% between us with them ahead. This small % is less than 1 behind. Absolutely every score counts. We really need to maintain our percentage.

Our backmen will have to play one of their best games ever, and stick to their Brisbane player like glue. Use our chances with the ball to the best ability and retrict the Lions when we can. Sounds difficult, but if we want to give a real show, we'll all have to give 110%.

Car'n the Cats, bring it home with a wet sail!!:D:D

Go Cats!!:)

The flood usually works, but when was the last time Geelong have flooded, or if ever. But if they have never flooded, there's always a first for everything....and I hope it will be this week!!:D

hopefully with hawthorn losing, they might concede next weeks game :)

i don't think geelong will flood. its not bombers style. and its ugly

Brissie appear to have taken the foot off the pedal, 55 points at 3/4 time is ok (I'd rather be winning). But as long as we keep them to under an 80 point victory, I'll take that as worst acceptable result.

So not too bad a result, while not a sparkling result, Brisbane are a very good side and to restrict the loss to less than ten goals is not a bad achievement.

So on to Hawthorn, while they have had the wood on us recently, they tend to scape over the line rather than thump us, the only loss greater than 21 points in the last 5 years being earlier this year. Hawthorn aren't exactly in sparkling form at the moment, unlike when we played them earlier this year. Then they had had thumping victories over North and the tigers, now, they have lost to those two teams. I can't see the Hawks winning by enough (55 points) to knock the cats out. Still a win is a pretty high priority unless you think WCE will lose to PA and North (likely but no given).

The other good news was the attendance, 24,003 is a healthy crowd that would have to be over the above the budgeted figure. I reckon this is yet another reason why the ground should be expanded to a capacity of 35,000, even if the increase is all standing room.

totally outclassed.
made too many skill errors.

another out with shoulder/ac injury. Doesn't auger well for next week. but still happy with this season.

hopefully i'll win tipping. 0/3 so far. and i only lead by 1 .... :(

We were definately outclassed but will learn a lot from today's game. Brisbane are the benchmark team in the competition... that is the level we as a football club must aspire to play at week in, week out.

All is not lost as yet... come on Geelong, we can still play in finals with a win next week against Hawthorn!! :):)

Go Cats!!
