Hutchison believes that Richmond are in the front seat as far as getting Wallace because they have guaranteed him full run of the place and a four year contract.

Wallace is uncertain about the roles of Brereton and Dunstall playing both assistant coaches and board members.

Wants to clarify all positions as they seem hazy.

We are hanging a bit on Wallace as it would seem that Eade is no longer an option after learning Wallace is the first choice.

Parkin just sat there as usual with probably full knowledge of what was going on but saying nothing.

It was also suggested that the "possible" ticket led by Don Scott to the Hawthorn board dont like the idea of having Wallace either and thats part of the reason why Richmond is Wallace's prefered choice, he wants to know where Hawthorn are headed hence why wallace has a meeting with the hawks on thursday.

It seems at Richmond the board and the ticket are both in agreement that wallace is the one we want.

Eade is also not out of the running for the Richmond role, miller has said that, but i think its clear that wallace is our first option and eade is our second choice both eade and wallace have an agreement with each other that who ever gets a position with either Richmond or Hawthorn they will tell the other one.

Thats true that he is not totally out of the running.

But when you target a single coach as Richmond is rightly doing you can lost points with your next preferred candidate.

Eade cancelled a meeting with us durring the week.

Hope Wallace makes his mind up quick as Collingwood and Adelaide will be able to make thier plays while he is in limbo.

We all have a source from somewhere, but mine is what you would call "in the loop" on the whole Wallace issue, and this is his version of events;

* Clinton Casey told Greg Denham & Pat Smith from The Australian that Wallace had agreed to coach the Tigers in 2005 on Saturday night. No maybes or strong chance - he had agreed and shook hands with Miller and Casey.
* Most of the terms had been settled upon - 4 years, $$$, assistant, footy manager etc...still a few things to be sorted out.
* Wallace admitted as much to Pat Smith in a phone conversation but was still a bit coy
* Now with what is going on, Pat Smith believes one of two things - Wallace is playing one club off against the other or as an employee of the Herald Sun, he wants to give them the scoop on the story.
* Still thinks that today there is a chance that Wallace will ring Hawthorn and say thanks but no thanks, and will hold a press conference with Richmond to announce coaching role.
* Tim Watson said something on SEN this morning that something big could happen today. He would have been tipped in by David Parkin..

Stay Tuned..

looks like either two things big will happen today or it is more likely just that Peter Rohde is about to be sacked.

why would casey tell patrick smith that wallace had signed, and then the club come out and deny it?
