Is it time to give all the youngsters a run? - Gumby, Houli, Reimers...etc

With Freo beating Adelaide and the Doggies getting smashed it means the door is still a little open.

If it wasn't for Hirds last year and the desire to send him off playing finals than I'd say yes - lets tank.

Bring them in over the next few rounds them I say. Houli, Jetta, Gumby and even Kepler, deserves his chance after performing consistently for Bendigo since being dropped.

Peverill, Stanton (not fit), Monfries, Nash (injured) could be the outs...

If in rd 18 we cant make finals i agree with you play Gumby, Lee, Houli, Bradley, Cole to see if he can play.

sorry dont agree with preverill he had 32 toaches one of our best. Rama has done nothing since his back. People might not agree with me but he should go back to the rookie list and bring up Heath Hocking. We know what he can do

Pev doesnt deserve to be dropped.

Peverill possessions are not damaging. Has bad foot skills. Apart from the goal his 32 touches did not hurt the opposition.

You obviously like players who miss the target opposed to those who hit the target.

I can't agree with that, we should at least let him play off the bench if we want to play the youngsters. He was the no1 ranked player today with 32 possies and a goal, he gives it his all so he should be rewarded with a spot in the 22 IMO.

We'll probably beat youse again, which will stuff up our chance for a PP. Either youse or Melbourne in the last game?

given that you guys will be tanking for a PP and at the point we could still be pushing for a finals selection i think we could see a 99 point drilling like it was in 2005 wasnt it....
who knows if we bring our best to the table will be a smashing
if we played like we did today and last week you guys will probably beat us like any team in the league

We're going nowhere with Peverill. Rarely has an influence in games, 32 possies don't impress me when they're not damaging.

A midfield of Watson, Stanton, Winderlich, Lovett and Monfries, with guys like JJ and Hislop on the bench would be good IMO.

Exactly right. :thumbsu:

We can finish as low as 13th. Scary considering we were contending for top 4 a few weeks ago.

its time for some tough decisions. peverill still has a spot imo, johnsons are gone, no influence at all.

WTF, no way. Pev will finish top 10 in the Crichon this year IMO. Sure his disposal lacks the class of the top line midfielders, but this has always been the case with Pev. Statistically, this year has been his best for his career. You can just go dropping guys because they are old when they are in career best form.

Peveril isn't eggective. Whats the point of getting the ball if your going to give it back again.

I assume you meant to say effective. But he is a good link player. We were all bagging Jobe for his possesions at the start of the year, but he has managed to turn it around. Im not saying that I expect Pev to do the same thing, but he has done this sort of thing for his whole career. At the start of the year when we were winning, he was hailed as one of our better players. Now that we are losing it seems that some of the posters on here have turned on him. In reality he has done this exact thing for a long time. It is just hilighted when wearent doing so good.

Is it just bad luck..... Why does he 75% of the time have the last kick to a leading Lloyd or Lucas??? No guesses what happens.

I know, but it's not like we've got anyone to really replace him and do a better job yet, so he's going to have to remain playing until someone better (hopefully in the near future) can replace him. I'd love to see Sheedy just stick Hislop in Pev's position just for one or 2 quarters and see how he gos.

On the Pev issue. I feel he wouldn't have a place in our next genuine top 4 team. But just as important as going for the future is rewarding strong performances so Pev should be safe.

No one drops Gus Monfries and gets away with it
