I have been thinking about the word tanking and have come up with this educated analysis for what it means in Footy...

Tanking > Sherman Tank > Uncle Doug > Rumpleforeskin > five finger shuffle > Cranking > = W*nking.........

Going on this formula Carlton are a bunch of w*nkers
