Just something I noticed as I was watching the replay after initially noticing it at the game, I find that Jamar taps backwards most of the time. He wins almost every tappout and is our most important player IMO but perhaps this is something that should be addressed?

As a youngster we're always taught to get the ball moving forward because it is much harder to defend against. Maybe bails just needs to remind the big fella of this.

Thoughts?

If I had to guess, I'd say its because we set up with more players on our defensive side of the stoppage (for obvious reasons), therefore tapping into that area, whilst conceding ground, actually increases our chance of coming out with the ball.

Particularly true in the defensive 50, where sweeping it around the back allows the likes of Grimes and Garland to run the ball out.

Just wanna say having finished watching the replay, jamars game was immense. I shudder to think what will happen should he miss a game. We struggled when he was off the field. His effort week in week out is just fantastic. Keep up the good work big fella

Obviously it works, and it works very well indeed!

Love it if someone can put a YouTube highlights package together for him - preferably with that version of the Russian anthem playing of course ;)

I was taught as kid never to kick across goal or backwards, welcome to modern football.

You can't tap to the same sport every time oppositon clubs will figure it out to easily. The main reason for tapping it backwards is bcuase as the way modern footy is played these days (maintain possesion) their is safety in numbers and the majority of players will set up behind the ball.
