A good coach (ex-AFL footballer) said to me...""if you dive on the ball you're either scared or slow". Think about it, grab the ball on your feet, get out of the pack & risk getting hit. Dive on the ball...well everyone dives on you...easy.

Tarks is far too defensive..... we clap him for taking the ball over the boundary line. Why? He has an opportunity to win the ball for our team and he concedes it to a 50-50 situation. And yet we applaud him every time.

I don't understand why he is such a golden boy. Chad Morrison uses the ball better than he does, Chad will back into a pack, Chad is tough and courageous....why do we hate Chad and love Tarks.

I go every week and don't see it.

Watch the game and stop listening to the whingers.

He gives us stability and is cool under the crisis, ie maturity, that we lack. He is solid.

Everyone will say he's Mick's lovechild, i disagree and say Tarks is Mick's lovechild.

To be fair on Tarks vs Chad, Tarks can actually be moved around alot more. Sure I get your points but Tarks this year has been forward, middle and back when MM needs a position filled. Chad's only possies seem to be from the backline, rotation relief in tagging and maybe rotation relief in the middle.

If I can talk about kicking, Tarks is quite a reliable low kick over 35m when passing which he has done many times to a leading forward. Chad doesn't seem to have a particularly good quality in kicking. i.e from the backline he doesn't boot the ball that sometimes a running backman should do. He'll chip. I won't give go there on the absolute disgrace kicking effort he showed in the Weagles match.

I like Tarks and have nothing against Chad. Over the two of them though Tarks is my best bet hands down.

Since reading these boards I've been watching Chad quite closely and to be honest I have to agree with the majority here... he doesn't use the ball well at all, every time he has the ball I cringe because I am certain he is going to turn it over. I do admit he had 2 or 3 decent games and I was happy to see him doing well, but last week I think he came back into his old crap form. I was so bloody happy when I heard he wasn't playing against Hawthorn. I just hope MM keeps J Cloke on the team for the rest of the year, I don't want to see Chad again at all... not playing for us anyway.
