Tries hard but isn’t good enough at anything. One of the coach’s players so he’s in the side without question. He should be a handy depth player not a first 22 automatic selection.

Yep. He's barometer. He needs to get literally pushed out by some young talent commanding a spot for us to be on the up.

He's not as bad as most knockers suggest. Handy.

I personally think that Tarkyn Lockyer's position will be overtaken by a new up and comer in Heath Shaw. He can be played back and also in midfield/Wing.

Same applies for Licuria Davis Lonie and O'Bree. None are that bad that they should be delisted, but all need to be superceded via natural attrition in the next year or two.

How do you figure that when they were both in the side all last year?

To really have a good list they should have been traded on the basis they need to be superseded. Get what return you can because they aren’t likely to be in a 22 that wins a flag. If that makes us take a step backwards to go forward then that’s AFL in the modern era.

agree with licuria. lonie was never that good but is the run and bounce player we lack and would love to get a better version of. davis on the other hand was in career best form before he got injured this season. if he can re capture that he's not done.

lockyer is still handy and until someone steps up to replace him i dont mind him being in th team but he will get superceded in next few seasons. he's not suited to modern football. he's not tall at 178cm, he's not quick... the game has outgrown his types unfortnately. the game no demands super speed or heigt and preferebly both. not expecting to see many lockyer types in the future

Your right but its to late to trade him now so maybe we try a young bloke in his position and leave him at willy for depth and at the end of the year delist him....... bloody cruel footy now isnt it?

My side for 2007, Round 1

B: N Maxwell, S Prestigiacomo, H Shaw
HB: R Lonie, J Clement, B Johnson
C: D Thomas, D Swan, R Shaw
HF: N Buckley, T Cloke, C Egan
F: L Davis, A Rocca, S Rusling
Foll: J Fraser, S O'Bree, P Licuria
I/C: S Pendlebury, S Wakelin, S Burns, G Richards

EM: B Davies, T Lockyer, H O'Brien
N/A: A Didak, B Holland

I think with the two improvers of 2006, being Heath Shaw and Dane Swan, have kicked him out of our best 22 (18 atleast). He had a very good first half of the year did Tarkyn, but in the second half got exposed more with his lack of pace, decline in skills and definately as a one-on-one small defender.

Problem is that is the sort of list management strategy we have employed in the past and it doesn’t help building a top end list. Sheedy is the master at getting returns for hacks and serviceable players. The biggest issue is timing.
