Tasmanian Devils to move North!

Just as we were all thinking the Devils would be moving south for good, the North is going to put in a bid to make the Devils the "Northern Devils". This will send the southerners nuts, with all AFL matches being played in the North already. An article in the local examiner states that it is to hard for players to get to training, and with Aurora stadium having the best facilities in the state "supposedly" a move is imminant. This is also on top of another Matty Armstrong whinge and with him being a northerner the move will be made.

This will be unfortunately of detrement to the NTFL, far and away the best comp in the state, although it will be fantastic for the local comp in the south, maybe the standard will pick up with the injection of new players into the comp as well as many of the old faithfull returning to watch their local team.

This may also spell the end of the Devils being a footballing powerhouse, because many of the southerners will not go and play for the "new" Devils. Therefore it will have to be the northerners, which I do not believe will be much chop against the other VFL sides.

Oh well as soon as the Devils are gone the wuiker we can get on with re-building Football in the state. Their is light at theend of the tunnel, it's a long shot but it might be just what the state needed.

I am always amazed at the bickerring in Tasmania. It is such a tiny place, with such a tiny population, but this whole "North / South" thing is simply childish. The team should play where it makes the most sense for Tasmanian football....if that is "North" then what is the big deal ???

It is unbelievable the rivarly in this State, WHY ??? Who knows. Tassie as a whole should get behind any bid which betters football in the State. Both Launceston and Hobart would be great for footy but it is only 2 hours between the 2 city's.

What I cannnot understand is why we do not have high quality Lighting at 1 of these grounds (Bellerive of Aurora Stadium). I have been in remote country locations around Australia and the lighting facilities are fantastic. Look at Cairns, They play Wizard cup games under lights, and Cairns is not as big as Launceston or Hobart and it is in Rugby territory. I only mention the 2 grounds (I know of West Park) because they have the facilities to house an AFL game.
