Taboo Tattoo in Blackburn

http://www.tabootattoo.com.au/

Clint did my Celtic Cross and some stuff for my missus and has done a few on some mates they are all awesome and a decent price

I got a tat of a Mustang dropping bombs on my arm on Tuesday. Looks great. Unfortunately I didn't get it in Melbourne so cant recommend the place.

Was gonna start up a new thread but i'll just revive this one.

Been thinking very hard about getting my first tattoo for my birthday (August). My mum, who has a few tattoos, is very supportive and says that whenever I decide i'm ready and have made my mind up she'll take me there and book an appointment. My sister passed away a couple of years ago, so I want her name and middle name with some angel wings or something similar. I wanted it on my shoulder to start with, then my forearm, now lately i've been thinking hard about getting it from collarbone to collarbone. I told mum and my girlfriend, who both gave me a flat-out no, but mum said it was ultimately my decision and she can't stop me. So today we went to the tattoo shop and asked the artist my idea. He told me it wouldn't work and that i'm too young to get a tattoo on my collarbones (i'm turning 20).

I want to work in journalism and the media in the future, and he and my parents both think that having it on my collarbones will mean I won't ever be employed. I mean, its not like i'm getting it on my face or anything. If I wear a normal looking shirt, it will hardly be visible, and especially so with a button-up shirt and tie, so I don't know what their problem is.

What do you guys think? Are they right? Or overreacting a little bit?

I'm not some tattoo hating guy, but god damn those collarbone ones look terrible. Listen to these people.

I haven't got a tattoo but my advice is you might aswell get two tattoos, they don't call it tattoo for only one.

Why not be original and not get a tat ?

Mate, I agree with everyone else. Don't get a collar bone tat, it's just not worry it. Get one on your bicep and keep it classy and discreet.

Find a pic you really like then hang it on the wall, when you get sick of it take it down and put a different one up.

I have my chest done, collar bone to collar bone and work in an office in a suit every day. Some of my work mates know, most dont. With a collared shirt you can't see it. Ultimately its up to you, you certainly need to consider all things (future work etc) but in my experience (i have a few tattoos) short of getting hands, neck face etc you can generally get away with it.

I picked the locations for my tattoos based on what they meant to me and how they would work from a design point of view (if its tall and skinny it can go on a limb alot better).

Some people will hate it regardless of what and where you get it, dont let that influence your decision, only you have to live with it. You will probably cop some shit for it from mates (which is fine) your family and friends will understand the importance it has to you.
