been reading through a few peooples drafts and a lot of people have a us taking Taylor. dont know his last name but by the sounds is a mid sized forward with the ability to go into the midfield. doesn anyone have any other information on him or better yet footage of him? thanks

I think you will find his first name is Troy surname is Taylor.
He is a Northern Territory boy, has plenty of natural talent as many Aboriginal boys do. Think he has played in the ruck in NT but from memory is only just over 6 foot. Looks a hf, midfield type. Has recently come into calculations for the draft but clubs would be wary as I think he has been in a little bit of trouble with the law in the past (but has recently got himself back on track)

You're thinking of Troy Taylor. There is quite a lot of information on him in the Drafting/Trading/List Management Thread stickied at the top.

Yeah, I've posted about him a fair bit in the Drafting/List Management thread. I'm a big fan, and getting him at our 3rd rounder would be a steal.
surely freo would not draft another half forward.when freo are so desperate in need of picking at least 3 key position players.thats my opinion.

If Taylor is the most talented player available at our selection the club would and should pick him. Drafting for need is important, drafting the best players is more important.

I saw Taylor play at the championships, as well as a bit of other vision of him. 5 minutes into the game at the champs and you could tell he had more talent than most of the other guys put together.

prattsta is right, and sometimes talent needs to outweigh perceived needs. And after the second round of this draft, I'd be looking at just taking the best player available with each pick, rather than choosing an average tall just because we need them.

Yeah I agree that if Black is not available which he probably wont be, we should go with Taylor. We then may be able to get the likes of Luff/Houghton/Astbury etc later on. This would be better imo than jumping too early on a kpp who could be drafted much later.

It also seems that after the likes of Black, Butcher, Panos, Carlisle that the Kpp's drop off significantly so it would be a waste to take any others at 20.

We could do with a real excitement machine I reckon and its probably worth the risk considering the draft is pretty weak and there are no sure things outside the first round.

our needs for key position players aren't perceived.they are fact .all our worthy key backs and forwards. are rapidly.approaching their use by date.freo don't have one quality key position player under the age of 21.that ain't perceived.

And if we pick one just for the sake of it then we still won't have one quality key position player under the age of 21.

90% of the kids that go into the draft have pretty much the same ability footy wise as each other.its what is above the shoulders that seperates the haves & have nots.do you think freo are gunna pick a player just because he is 6 foot 5,c'mon it is more involved than that.
