I doubt we will bother bringing in Russell for the last three games of the season. At this point in time, Carlton will be trying to see whether certain players should be retained.

However, I expect Morrell and Bryan to be dropped from the current side, probably to make way for Davies and Deluca.

i agree the last 3 games is about learing who to keep and who to delist at season end

we know walker, russell and the other kids will be there next year and beyond but there are ???'s over players such as wiggins, sporn, morell, longmuir and chambers to see if they will be kept and to a much lesser extent bentick who has struggled to command a regular spot in the team.

They're starting to mate, about time hey! Deluca can stay with the Ants, Bryan is better value. Davies hasnt done enough. Agree its time for Walker and either Blackwell or Russell. Cant believe Im saying this but if they wont play Karl Norman then give Digby one more chance. Id rather see Norman and/or Adam Hartlett in ahead of Morrell, Prendergast and Deluca. Cya later Wiggins! GONE!!! My side:

i see your point but he has hardly been give 2 minutes of game time up until the past 2 weeks and hes been great when finally given the chance.

 What does the 19 year old kid have to do during his first year on a senior list to get some respect? Gather 40 possessions and kick 10 goals? WTF????

They won't drop Wiggins... even though I think he is no good, he is a pretth couregous player and that mark he took... we should give him credit. Only 1 other player would have had a crack at that ball - Teague.

Bryan should be dropped - probably Morrell too.

Longmuir is on thin ice... but deserves another go as he was on the bench a lot last week.

I agree we should be playing the potential delistees for long periods to see who we should keep and who we should drop...the kids will be staying on the list no matter what and should benefit from the preparation for a finals assault in the VFL.

I would like to see Davies, Norman, Bowyer get significant time in their respective positions....they are all likely delistees who I would like to have another look at. I would also like to see Houlihan played in the forward pocket to raise he trade value and also to see him actually play in a position he is suited...if he can skirt around tacklers like he does in the back line he should be able to kick plenty of goals. I know Bowyer is up there with Clarkey on mosts peoples delist favourites but I think he has shown something when given a chance in the ones and would probably be in line for VFL best player (going by votes) if he played all the games this season. Norman and Davies are obviously talented but will be gone if they don't show the desperation Pagan will be looking for...we still need to give them a go before seasons end.

In: Davies, Norman, Bowyer, Houlihan
Outs: Longmuir, Chambers, Bryan, Betts

Wiggins was quite good in the first half against Port ..he deserves to retain his place in the side

agree Wiggins was very good when he came on. Some people on here are very fickle asking for him to be dropped after his game on the weekend.

The thought of Glen Bowyer coming back into the side really scares me.

Wiggins did ok last week didnt he! If Wiggins plays I think it should be up forward. He's quick, hard at it and courageous. He takes a good grab and will fight touth and nail to keep the ball in the forward line. He's been kicking goals for the the Ants in the VFL each week playing alot up forward. Is this where he should play to show his stuff this week?

Hf: Morrell, Waite, Lappin
F: Wiggins, Fevola, Fisher
Others: Bryan, Whitnall, Koutoufides, Chambers, Longmuir, Davies, Hartlett

I agree about Bowyer ..unfortunately i don't think he has anything to offer our team

he hasn't been getting a regular game this year, so his name is going to come up when we talk about trades/delistings
the point of mentioning bentick was that it seems carlton have decided to give a few players a chance to see where they are at and if they can do enough to be kept on for next season. IMO he comes under this category
FWIW he will be kept on the list for next year.

On what basis would you bring Houlihan back in? He didn't play last week so there is no significant increase in form or attitude to put on the table!
And why would you drop Chambers? Last week Burgoygne smashed us in the first quarter (13 touches 3 goals) so Chambers was given the task of quitening him. He ran with him for 3 quarters and did an OK job - Burgoygne still got possessions and goals but , given the Lade dominance in the ruck, Chambers did a fair job for a supposedly "lacking in defensive skills" player.
Methinks Dennis would have been happy with the effort and will give him another try.

Chambers did OK I suppose...but I'm thinking more in terms of giving some players a chance before years end and Chambers is on contract (but personally don't think he is much chop)...Also, Houlihan has been played out of his natural position since Pagan arrived...IMO I think he could play Longmuir's role much better than Longmuir and should be allowed to play his natural game to see what happens! He has a heap of talent and we can moan about him being a softc*ck, but if he kicks 2 or 3 goals and a few assists a week from a forward pocket who cares...I think we are better off experimenting with the likes of Houlihan than Chambers and Longmuir. There's also trade value to think of in Houlihan's case. The three inclusions (Davies, Norman, Houlihan) are all younger and more talented than Chambers or Longmuir (who is also on contract so he'll be around next year) and need to be played again before being let go! I'd probably keep Bryan in and not include Bowyer on second thoughts. All of this is what I want to see happen...not what will happen. I expect Longmuir and Digby to make way for Walker (for big crowd experience) and Sporn/Livo (is Livo he injured?)!

I'd be surprised if we made a number of changes. The team has been pretty decent for the last two weeks. Parhaps Davies could get a run, he had that blinder against the Pies in a night game last year (wasn't it?). Maybe Betts to go back to the twos, he's going to be at the club for a while so let him get some full games in the Bullants.

Betts played one of his best games on the weekend, he set up at least 5 goals off his own boot, plus kicked a blinder that should have won us the game.

very true, i wasn't really thinking when i posted that

Davies and Sporn are the only players i would have thought would get a look in. Not sure who'd get ommitted though.
