C: Brent Prismall, Mark McVeigh, Andrew Lovett
HF: Nathan Lovett-Murray, Angus Monfries, Kyle Reimers

I/C (from): Brent Stanton, Ricky Dyson, Heath Hocking, Cale Hooker, Scott Lucas, Hayden Skipworth, Sam Lonergan

IN: NLM, Skipworth, Monfries
OUT: -

It's going to be tough to find three players to miss out.

Hocking hasnt started on the bench for a while, either has Lucas. Correct me if im wrong, so I assume those two will come out.

NLM and Monfries are on the field so I assume they will start.

My guess..

In: NLM, Skipworth, Monfries
Out: Hocking, Lucas, Longergan

This sucks, I like all three of the players going out, and all 3 going in. Good position to be in I guess, and we also have Houli, Myers etc really pushing for a spot in Bendigo... Good times...

Bolded players to miss out..

Really poor selection this week tbh. Very small side..

I really hope Sammy Lonergan isn't dropped. We need his hardness. Why Tom Bellchambers isn't named in the squad staggers me.

Richmond
B: Jake King, Will Thursfield, Chris Newman
HB: Dean Polo , Luke McGuane, Matthew White
C: Shane Edwards, Trent Cotchin, Brett Deledio
HF: Robin Nahas, Jack Riewoldt, Jayden Post
F: Nathan Brown, Mitch Morton, Ben Cousins
Foll: Tyrone Vickery, Daniel Jackson, Richard Tambling
I/C (from): Adam Pattison, Alex Rance, Jordan McMahon, Jarrod Silvester, Adam Thomson, Mark Coughlan, Tom Hislop
In: Cousins, Cotchin, Pattison, Brown, Thomson
Out: Shane Tuck, Angus Graham

I think Hooker should get a spell in the VFL but with Bellchambers missing out there is no secondary ruck option. I wanted to see Houli and Myers given a run or Zaha but that won't happen either. Lucas could be dropped but apart from last week he has been solid. Perhaps they will use NLM or Hurley as replacements for Scotty.

Some predicted poor weather could be the reason behind this. Poor selection? Nobody has actually been ommited from the team yet so I don't see how adding three experienced players is poor.

With all due respect to Richmond, their ruck department at the moment is hardly a formidable force. Ryder will still be able to shoulder most of the duties. Belly needs another couple of consistently good performances in the VFL to be genuinely considered.

Hoping Skipworth doesnt get a game before the others on the interchange from, then again its Knightsy pet at the moment so he probably will, Lucas on the bench ??? why isnt Mcphee on the bench he hasnt really set the world on fire either need to keep Budda & Sammy in the side for their toughness
Didnt Reimers and Watson come off late in the game last week injured ???

Jesus! Toughest selection for the year. What I am not quite sure about is why they didn't bring in Houli to take Nahas, he was great on him last time and by all reports has been caining it in the ressies... I am guessing they will put Dempsey on Nahas and Slattery on Brown?

Of that list you'd reckon Hocking, Stanton and Hooker are all safe.
Hocking will potentially go head to head with Cousins and without Belch, Hooker is imperative.

Lonergan and Skipworth both assume a similar small lead up forward role as Monfries so I am guessing that neither of them will make it ESP with NLM named on the flank.

It looks as though the last place will be between Scotty and Dyson. I will let the match comittee fight it out over that one!

Great to be having these depth issues!

Seriously, this is very tough to force players out.

Don't want to see Lonergan and Hocking go out, but the experience of bringing in Monfries and NLM will be important.

Wouldn't want to be the guy making the decisions this week.

I/C (from): Brent Stanton, Ricky Dyson, Heath Hocking, Cale Hooker, Scott Lucas, Hayden Skipworth, Sam Lonergan

Lucas - doesn't deserve to be dropped but I think they will ... prefer to see dyson go out

Longeran - straight out for a monfries. another one i don't want to see dropped but will

Skipworth - would love to see him in the team but unfortunately not this week

Stanton - Can't really drop your "brownlow favourite" ...

Dyson - Travelling along alright, enough to keep his spot, but may very well lose his spot to skipworth

Hocking and Hooker - no brainers that they should be selected. Hocking a tough nut whose our best tagger on a big bodied midfielder along with welsh. hooker is the only back up ruckmen, serves little use in the backline now that Hurley, Fletcher, Pears and Mcphee are all tall defenders ahead of him.

Prefer to see Mcphee push up the ground when Ryder is rucking and Hooker is down back.

I'd really like to see McPhee get pushed forward..
We struggle marking inside forward, though we are rated close to 1st in conversing once inside 50 but thats from guys like Davey, Lonergan and Monfries cleaning up after Lloyd and Lucas constantly drop marks.

Maybe start McPhee up forward for the 1st half, and ease Hurley in the 2nd.

Lathan Movett Nurray is a certain starter as is Monfries...that is from Knights' match preview.

For mine that means that Skipworth, Lonergan and Lucas are the 3 to miss out.

I'm really surprised Lucas is in this situation. The only way he can be in the side is if we decide to have him rotating through the ruck and Hooker misses out. It's unlikely though. NLM is obvious in as a more mobile and versatile option for Lucas. It also means McPhee/Hurley can rotate forward.

Skipworth can't force his way in given that we are already bringing in Monfries for Lonergan. Sammy has been on the cusp for a little while, and has lost the battle with Dyson and Hocking. It would upset the balance of the forwardline to keep him in given that McVeigh is named in the middle and Winderlich up forward.

Interesting times.

Pleased that Tuck is out for them also!

If Jobe plays:

Out: Dyson (Harsh, has been very good since ANZAC day, but his disposal last week was woeful. I'm not using him as a scape goat for last weeks loss.)
In: Gus

If Jobe doesn't come up after Sat training - NLM in.

Good to see some depth and players earing their spot. We haven't been in this position for ages, **** it feels good. :thumbsu:

3 Emergencies are Lonergan, Skipworth and Hocking you only have to look at the Bendigo side to see that.

Every week that Essendon play on a Sunday they only name the 3 emergencies and not the whole extended bench for Bendigo

Yep.

Normally though, they'd have named the whole extended bench.
