The Richmond team for Round 12, 2005:-

B: Hall, Gaspar, Kellaway

H/B: Tivendale, Graham, Newman

C: Bowden, Coughlan, Raines,

H/F: Deledio, Simmonds, Pettifer

F: Hilton, Richardson, Krakouer

R: Knobel, Johnson, Tuck

I/C: Campbell, Stafford, Jackson, Chaffey, Hyde, Schulz, Meyer

Looks like Raines, Meyer and Schulz in, no outs as yet. Nice to see the kids getting another chance, hopefully Hartigan and Tambling will be right for next week.

question mark over staffs fitness i'd say could be left out.

hyde or chaffey the only change for raines id think unless they drop jackson?

I would like to see it as,

IN: Raines and Schulz
OUT: Hyde and Stafford

But Stafford shouldn't be dropped, TW will give him game time this week so I would go with one change

i know we seem to say this every weekend about teams 3rd and 4th defenders but i reckon this is the game we rearly get back to our triangle set up

Brown hasnt been in the best of form lately and probably will get richo, perhaps Archer might hes done okay in the past, Colbert seems to be struggling of late aswell and watt has been okay, its at the dome too so i think talls should be the way to go

why drop jackson? He hasn't been played in position. He is wasted in defence. Chuck him in the middle for a few games and let him force Chaffey out of the team. I hope Hyde finds some confidence because he is valuable in the midfield. Come on Schultz, fire up mate and force Graham out of the team. Stafford won't be dropped. He's an important player

This is my suggestion of the team:

B: Hall Gaspar Kellaway
H/B: Bowden Hall Jackson
C: Newman Coughlan Raines
H/F: Deledio, Simmonds, Pettifer
F: Stafford Richardson, Krakouer
R: Knobel Johnson Tuck

I/C: Campbell Hilton Chaffey Graham

IN: Raines
OUT: Hyde/Hilton/Graham/Chaffey

I think Motlop is back for them :(

I'd like to see Hyde out for Meyer as the only change, Hyde's had 3 games and hasn't improved yet, I think he could do well having a run at Coburg to get some confidence back. Meyer will add a nice boost of pace.

as much as i want jacko in the team playing him in defence isnt out of position thats his natural game, midfield is playing him out of position however wont be in the future

Let him show he can get 30 touches playing midfield at Coburg.

Schulz will never displace Graham. Graham can play small on the flanks and run the ball. Schulz will need to force Hall, Richardson or Simmonds out of the team.

Meyer is sadly out of match practice like a few of the others , given Coburg's double bye. I doubt there will be too many changes unless TW sees someone playing a specific role on a North player.

Hyde was today given the all clear to play without his helmet. He has complained in the past few weeks that the helmet was a distraction and he couldn't hear properly as well as obscuring his vision. He'll be better for the runs he's had and getting the helmet off.
As much as I like Meyer I don't think he can have anywhere near the influence an in-form Hyde can at this stage of his career. I think Hyde really fits Plough's style of game and can provide valuable run-with quality and has pace. For that reason I think Plough will give him more opportunities.

I think Tambling and Hartigan both need a few runs with Coburg before they get back in the senior side. Hartigan's basically missed two months and Tambling's been much the same.

Brilliant news!

good to see raines fighting his way back into the side. Jackson may get dropped back to coburg, seems to have hit a flat spot (not a criticisim as this happens with all young players). David king last week on 3aw was asked where he sees jackos natural possie and he said a defender who could have a run in the midfield occasionally.

I think the break meyers had the last week or 2 is just what wallace wanted. Freshen the kid up, he'll be raring to go and wouldnt surprise if he was included this week

brilliant news abt hyde! hope he starts getting back some form shortly

Brown, Watt, Colbert and Archer can all play tall.

Throw Jesse Smith in there as well.

But as mentioned The Anvil and Colby haven't been at their best....what a week to show their goods I say!

Watch for Smith to have a hugh game, really went for his marks last weekend and showed the confidence to carry the ball.

Good luck.

That's good news, he has struggled with the headgear on and if it had to stay then I think he would have been better off at Coburg.

Raines in for Hyde
6:36:17 PM Fri 10 June, 2005
Exclusive to richmondfc.com.au

Richmond has made just one change Sunday's clash against the Kangaroos at Telstra Dome with youngster Andrew Raines coming in for midfielder Chris Hyde.

Hyde missed three matches from rounds six to eight with a fractured skull, but will line-up for Coburg against Port Melbourne in the VFL.

Raines has made four AFL appearances, including three this year.

The Kangaroos have dropped long-kicking full-forward Sav Rocca. But Daniel Motlop will play his first match of the season, after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction in March, while Daniel Harris and Brent LeCras return.

Rocca, who is 18th on the VFL/AFL goalkicking list, has booted 20 goals from 10 matches this season. He missed round 10 with a back problem. Michael Stevens and Justin Perkins also make way for the Roos.
