Teddy Richards?

Dont know why selectors let him play last game and the game before and the game before that. He should have got dropped ages ago to gain form in the reserves. Dont think he has had over 10 possessions in his last 5-6 games. If he plays this weekend i may...i dont know, but he has to get dropped.

well god damn, not getting a lot of possessions means a shit performance even for a defender now..

i could be wrong as i only listened to the game on the radio but didnt ted play on reiwoldt? and didnt reiwoldt have very minimal impact??
darren glass is one of the best defenders going around and he rarely gets over 10 possies? since when is possessions a direct indication on performance for a defender

WTF? Ted was playing on one of the top 4 forwards in the game and reduced his impact. He was with Riewoldt every step of the way and won alot of contests. And we ridicule him?

Before the game started, after the players had run out to warm up and after i have gotten over my urge to be sick, me and my sister were talking about it being Teddy's game. He had to stand up and fight for his position in the team and he did that. Every single player out there makes mistakes, but the defenders mistakes are highlighted because they can cost us goals.

I am with you Nico. Not sure how anyone can put him down for his effort last night
I agree. Our back line played an awesome game of footy. LRT is going to fin it hard making his way back into the team. Brennan will be an obvious exclusion when Barry is fit but who is going to make way for LRT?

It certainly was his game to prove himself and prove himself he did. I think we were lucky Kosie didnt run forward much he played out of the ruck alot and when he did go forward Brennan was good and matched him physically. And with Teddy holding Roo and Bolts on Gherig the Saints were beaten.

He was horrible tonight. His kicking was terrible and was very undisciplined. However, (i know this will sound contradicting when i said he was horrible), but he held Reiwoldt quite okayish, but when he's attacking, he just flops.

We need the 2006 GF TEDDY back!

Stupid post. Absolutely stupid. Teddy had a great game on Sat night and cannot be faulted.

I sometimes don't understand my own teams fans, is it from a lack of knowledge? Thus far every single player that has been chastised, dropped, put up for trade and just given a toweling by the experts on here and the other site - have come through when its mattered at the business end of the season.

And thats why we are very lucky to have a brilliant coach like Paul Roos.

Agreed, Teddy had a job to do and that was to shut down Riewoldt and he done it brilliantly. The way he played on Saturday night should give him confidence to continue the good form for the rest of the season. If only people keep the faith in him. :thumbsu:

absolutely....richards has been a fantastic player for the swans over two seasons, in terms of our team structure...he's not a superstar, but certainly more valuable than essendon ever gave him credit for, AND he's a good bloke...
it's true he has not been in career-best form, but he has not been alone at the swans this season, and thank goodness roos, if no one else, kept faith and gave him a big job to do against the saints, and teddy repaid the faith....

i think that from the opposition looking in Ted Richards is a great contributer to the swans and i wouldnt mind having him play in my team:thumbsu:
Did a great job against brissie too. :thumbsu::thumbsu: for teddy richards

Ive been very happy with how Ted Richards has played over the past 2 weeks. He appears to have found some form which will be great heading into the finals as due to the Swans style of play a solid defence is extremely important. I bet Essendon are annoyed that they let Richards go but probably not as annoyed as Brisbane fans are for letting Bolton go.
