Harry has done very well getting such a team together.

They are now signing the recent Chelsea buy Alexei Smertin on loan.

Great signing for a newly promoted side. He'll go a long way to achieving a mid-table possie for Pompey.

Not a bad signing, but don't think Teddy will make that big a difference to the side. Yakubu on the other hand looks quality, and will score plenty IMO.

I still reckon pompey will finish toward the bottom, it reminds me a bit of Bolton a few years ago doing very well early, but struggling when the inevitable injuries, suspensions etc hit.

Villa at home, City away and Bolton at home is hardly to most difficult three games to play either, I reckon Wolves are half a chance to burst the bubble this weekend.

Sure is, as I mentioned in my EPL time capsule.

I reckon Harry Redknapp is a very underrated manager. I watched Pompey in the first game against Villa and they played some pretty nice stuff.

If they can keep that up they'll end up mid table and not having to worry about relegation.

Mind you if 'arry was at the 'ammers still, they'd be in the Premiership.

Teddy Sheringham's from near where I am.

I hate him.

You're stil p*ssed about the time at Old Trafford that after some baiting from the Arsenal fans, Teddy mimed the lifting of the Treble trophies at them. :p

They looked pretty good in the first half against us, we didn't provide much competition for them but they were creating plenty, playing a pretty good passing game. Second half with a 1-0 lead they reverted to the long ball game, and looked sh1te as a result.

Harry had a go after the game at a commentator who had criticised their playing style, but I think there is a bit of a tendency to abandoned football in favour of safety first.

Yeah well that didn't help but it goes deeper than that he's a self confessed Arsenal hater, he's a 100% yiddo & just like those plastic yiddos from round my way he's an obnoxious peasant.

I still remember seeing him on a football show on TV early on in the 96/97 season when we'd sacked Bruce Rioch & we had to wait for Wenger to arrive , all the papers were full of Arsenal in crisis & Spurs had done one of their regular near the top of the table after about 5 games stunts that draws the fans into some belief that they're good side.
So Teddy sits there all smug on telly saying how good Spurs are & then they ask him about events at Arsenal & the smirks & says 'Oh yeah we're all having a little laugh at their problems at the moment'
The funny thing was AW arrived our form picked up, surprise surprise Spurs dropped like a stone & we passed each other going in different directions in a couple of weeks & we ended the season tied for 2nd place(4th on goal diff) in the table & haven't looked back since, whilst they finished nowhere yet again.

I've never forgotton nor forgiven that man & I remain convinced that the undisputbale laws of karma will mean that at some point something very nasty shall happen to our Teddy(hopefully he'll get the Tottenham manager's job one day:D).

Whatever happens thoguh you can never take away from me the memory of how gutted he looked when we won the double in 97/98 & let him know about during his first season at OT.Happy happy days.;)

Take it all on board DIPPER. We always hated Alan Hansen for the same reason - it would kill him in the early 90s to say anything good about United, and he was always ready for the nasty dig at us. Ah, how times have changed.

To my mind, as much as Teddy helped us to the Treble, I still think of him as a Spurs man rather than a United one.
