Tell Me What This Is? (Identify This - )

I think most of us on this board have an enquiring mind and sometimes come across things that stump us or our ability to ''google'' it. There is a wide range of interests so I hope this can become a thread that helps solve those things we dont know

Walking along the beach I spotted this and apart from saying big ken fly I dont know what it specifically is. Googling Horse fly with yellow stripe doesnt solve anything so I figured somebody would know



Specifically if anybody knows what this is and if you want to pose your own questions pictures, go for it

Hmm 50mm to 70mm

Some kind of harlequin beetle maybe?

Soldier fly maybe if its smaller than you say it is.

It looks like a Yellow Head Soldier Fly.

If that picture is taken in S.A. then I would guess it's a Blue Flower Wasp

Thank you. While the Soldier Fly is close I think Snake might have it. I didnt get to see the body as its wings were very wet. I found it on the beach between Port Noarlunga and O'Sullivans Beach
