I'm starting to like the cut of your jib CP.

I get $800 a week with incentives for goals, votes and tackles. On average i get paid $1300 per week (under the table of course). At the beginning of each year i get a latest model Toyota, an around the world plane ticket for two in business and A voucher for three free bowl cuts and tips.

finally some truth and which division is your club in and how do they get that sortof dough you must be very good

1300?

your getting shafted, when i played (few years ago now) i used to get 1500 + 250 per goal and if i sang the song really loud they would throw in another 50 AND if i got to training on time both nights another 100

used to total 1900+ a week and i played in the 2's

Pete,

I know one of one A Grade club who has offered payment to a player.

To his credit, he refused it.

Cranypete - have you got the message yet?

Just in case you haven't realised the horse you're flogging has shuffled off this mortal coil, I also receive match payments. For every tackle, it's $500, for a smother it's $250, and for a shepherd its a paltry $150. Given I'm known as Mr One-Percenter at my club, I'n currently averaging about $73K per season under the table. Add that to my working salary, and things are going quite nicely - I could buy my own Pacific Island, I hear the Solomons are going cheap.

NB - the stingy b@stards at my club would only agree to my fee increase if I undertook to buy them a bigger boardroom table.

I heard that a C section club pays a player "punting money". The said player went to Old Scotch to ask for a similar deal, and OS wisely showed him the door.

I have heard rumours of people asking for petrol money ect at OS and the club really don't like, needless to say they are not around for the next training night.

I don't think it goes on to much in the higher grades but i remember hearing a lot of stories about it when i was playing in the lower grades (just my experiance)

There was alot of money going around in the late 80's early 90's with district clubs. These days it is a bit more discreet - jobs, education, etc

It was a well known fact that a vafa vice president paid players out of his own pocket. This club is no longer in the vafa. Payment was big with the district clubs as they couldn't compete with the school boys clubs in regards to recruiting.

In the last 15 years there have been at least 10 district clubs that have folded, moved to a different comp or are now in the lower grades. Everyone of these clubs were at in c grade or higher during these times.

Players who have been offered jobs include: Mark Graham, Steve McKee, Ciavola (st kevins from Parade). In these cases no money changes hand so no problems.
