want to see all these people bowling 300s at Keon Park having a crack at Knox or Boronia. Bet you they won't score 300 there.

Bowled in a league a few years here n there. It's funny sport, when your in the zone you bowl anywhere and get a strike but when you start thinking there is no telling where the ball may go.

Average was about 150-160. I used to fluke a really good game about once a month and the blokes used to spit it.
Highest score, I don't think would of been much more than a 220 by memory.

Has anybody seen a 300?
We had a few down at the local, great stuff.

I was about the same standard as yourself by the sound of it. HS was 238, lots of 180s but interspersed with too many 140s to be considered a good bowler.

I bowled at the Norwood Bowl in Adelaide. One night I rolled up early and was watching the league before mine. Bought something to eat and sat down. I just happened to be sitting behind a guy who rolled 300. It was interesting in that he got to about 6 or 7 strikes and word started to get around. By the time he'd rolled his 9th strike, people had stopped bowling and began gathering around to watch.

Have to hand it to the guy, he remained totally focussed. Rolled his 10th and 11th strikes then calmly placed the ball right into the pocket for a classic strike and a massive cheer went up which appeared to surprise the bowler. I think he was oblivious to all the attention. It was good to watch.

A mate of mine rolled 299 once. Classic case of 11 strikes in a row, the 12th went right into the pocket but the 10 pin wobbled and stood up. I'd be spewing if that happened to me.

You have to feel for the bloke. We had a few down at the local and like you say, Everybody stopped and stood around his lane. Me personally, I don't know if I could handle that. I would string 11 strikes together and then gutter the last shot

Don't really bowl much anymore but I was in a league when I was in year 8 at school. Played for one year and bowled a 272 as my HS. I think my average was around 150. Won about 10 trophies at the presentation night and quit after that. People really did not like a kid taking all the trophies home! :)

My brother has bowled a 300.

A guy I bowled with in my team bowled a couple of 300's. I've actually seen a few 300's. A few while just sitting down watching my bro bowl and a couple in the same team.

The league my bro bowled in at Watergardens alot of 300's were bowled.

If anyone gives a shit about international bowling, my older brother is currently over in Qatar representing Australia in two tournaments: the World Singles Championships which finished on the 10th, and the Qatar Open which is right now. Unfortunately, he didn't perform too well in either and missed the cut to the next round but it was certainly a great experience in the country when I was there for 12 days earlier in the month. Fellow Aussie Sean Bowling (yes, that's his surname) is terrific and is bowling as I type this. Jason Belmonte is also bowling in this tournament right now, just to get a feel about how big this tournament this is, being the #1 bowler in the world.

someone in my league bowled a 300 this season. :thumbsu:
I have no idea how but I've witnessed 30 consecutive strikes a couple of years ago by a Kuwaiti bowler
Game 1: Back 10 strikes to bowl a 269
Game 2: 12/12 strikes to bowl a 300
Game 3: Front 8 strikes to bowl a 268

It was pretty awesome

Yes I've been bowling for about 35 years.
Went through the junior leagues and into the adult money leagues.
Bowled President's Shield for Tasmania for two years, finished 10th in the Australian Junior Masters in 1992 at Kirwan in Townsville.
Have won 19 tournament titles over the past 26 years including two State Open Masters titles. Bowled in the Australian Open Masters six or seven times, highest I got was 33rd at Clayfield in 1994.
My current league average is 220, have rolled two 300 games and a high three game series in league of 791 and 808 in a house tournament a few years ago.
Unfortunately the sport is really struggling now, a far cry from the heady days of the 1970s, 80s and early 90s.
