On the 22nd January this year, I slipped at work while I was coming down from a steep hill, and landed on metal pipes on my right elbow and arm.I had a scratch on my right forearm, I held my arm for awhile thinking It's nothing so I just continued work .Even though the person in charge of me on the day took photos of my arm and the metal that I fell on.I had no pain whatsoever on the day it happened, but when I woke up the next day I had the most excruciating pain anyone could imagine. So I went to the doctor on the 23rd and he told me I had right elbow soft tissue inflamation and numbness of the forearm which I then knew this metal I fell on was more then serious. He then said that I can go back to work the next day but can't lift anything over 5kg.Two months of using voltaren gel and rest and also medication nothing has helped ,then the doctor only because I mentioned it sent me to get a MRI scan, got that done,my diagnosis came up as "tennis elbow" now I'm seeing this physio and the past 4 weeks he has done wonders and my pain has just about gone.So what my theory is if this is Tennis Elbow don't they last longer then 4 weeks? What I've heard is that people with tennis elbows there symtons can last for years.

Thoughts plz?

I have tendonitis of the bicep leading down to my elbows. Every now and then it flares up. E.g. when im lifting heavy weights at the gym or last week when playing footy I couldnt lift both my arms above head height.

I think you can take measures to ease the pain and stop it reoccuring often, but it might always be there for some, like it is with me.

I guess duration of tennis elbow would depend on severity and management. Funny they would call it that from your type of injury but sounds like its tendonitis in the same area. I had a mild case of it which lasted a few months - I used a lambswool bandage to keep the area warm to promote blood supply and healing whether that actually helped dunno but seemed to.

Used to play tennis 5 times a week until my mid 20's and have played probably once in the past decade thanks to the dreaded elbow :(.

No good news for you here.
