I wasn't able to watch a second of the game today but was following the scores online here and there.

So I'm asking those at the game or who watched at home - WTF happened in that third quarter?

I'm really disappointed that A) Our leaders couldn't turn the tide when the game was going against them, and B) Goodwin's inability to do anything tactically to stem the tide.

Anyone out there able to shed light on what actually happened?

Thanks for the insightful contribution.

Sorry - still in a pretty shitty mood haha.

From my perspective we just stopped doing the little things. So many missed tackles, half-baked chases and so on. It was definitely like watching Baileyball - we looked amazing when things were going well, but then just... stopped. For an entire quarter.

It was one of those quarters where nothing went right. At one point, Kent had Watts all alone in the square, and handballed in his general direction. But the ball bounced a little funnily, and by the time Watts got his boot to it, it was just over the line. That was probably our best opportunity to score all quarter.

Fyfe also started Fyfing. They seemed to win the important clearances.

Freo got the ball forward and we couldn't get it out, then when they got a goal, they won the centre clearance and then repeat for 30 minutes. The occasional times we got it forward it just came straight back out with interest. We panicked kicked out of defence constantly. Freo's pressure was immense though, we didn't deal with it well at all.
