The "Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario" Tour

Watching that god-awful excuse for a female blow Venus off the court last night, some friends and I discussed a women's tour where this certain type of female would play where us the general public would never have to actually see them. We dubbed it the "Arantxa" Tour after the stocky little mulleted Spaniard. So for a bit of light hearted fun who would be your nominations to join this tour. We could make a top twenty. My first nomination would be Svetlana Kuznetsova.

There is nothing like a bit of light hearted fun by putting people down based purely on their looks. Never mind the fact that she defeated a top ranked player. I don't mind threads that are based on discussing the best looking players, but to generate a thread that is solely designed for the discussion of people who one thinks are not good looking is questionable. It may seem like double standards, but that is just my opinion. I am bracing myself for the hail of abuse that I am sure to receive (no doubt the term ghey will be bandied about).

I watch tennis for the quality.

Ivanovic is a good-looking girl, I remember watching her play when no one had heard of her and thought, yeah she's good looking (overrated now that she has become popular), but even then, I can only watch her for a few minutes simply because I don't enjoy women's tennis.

edit: agree with the bagging if the person in question was or wanted to be a model and thought they were the shit etc

How about a normal reaction like; 'Congratulations for the win'. Also why not try to remember Sanchez-Vicario for the gun player she was. You've managed to bag two players at once for superficial reasons.

The thread is a little mean but people need to lighten up a little. I was cheering on Suarez-Navarro in the third set last night too, don't think anyone's disputing she played brilliantly and deserved the win! And Sanchez-Vicario was a gun player. Anyhoo I nominate Kaia Kanepi, saw her play a match against Molik once a couple of years ago...

Perhaps we need to do one of these for the men's tour as well, for balance? But I'll leave that one to the female posters to decide.
