Not talking about performance here I am talking about how much they are getting paid.
Questions have been asked why we have to go into the season with less than a full list.
The answer?
I give you the back page of the West Australian

Clive: 400,000 Per year
Farmer:500,000 Per year
Croad:2.1 over 4 years

Are these players performing anywhere near that value?
Hell no
People ask why I am on their and Conollys case, its because players like these are wasting the club money and Conolly views them as undropable.
If players like Woods or Hayden strung 2 bad games together in a row they would be dropped right back to the WAFL.
For Croad it would have to be his last game this week, he kicked less than 3 goals and hes back in the WAFL.
Farmer your on notice too, not so much as Croad but getting there.
I am willing to give Clive at least half a season considering he hasnt played for 2 years.
These guys need to take pay cuts, plain and simple.

Beleive you me - they will take pay cuts ;)
& They are not worth the money the way they are playing ;)

Whilst i agree with sabre that those players aren't performing near where their pay packets are, i don't think Connolly should drop them.
Yes Croad only kicked two goals, but with j.Lo kicking 3, Pav 3, medhurst, farmer, clive a few etc, you get an even contribution across the board instead of having one target up forward.
All they need to do is provide that away from home and Freo will be causing other team's headaches as their are so many options up forward.
a pay cut may be needed on Farmer and Croad's behalf, but they still deserve their spot in the side if they can chip in with goals and contribute to a winning score which they have done for most of the season.
The last time a Docker forward kicked a bag was Croad with 7 last year.
Otherwise if you look at the stats, all Freo's wins have had even contributions.
The only player Freo should really worry about paying too much is Luke Toia, 250,000 a year for him to play WAFL!

Agree 100% with Jumper.

There's no way I'd drop Farmer. He has been good this year. You just don't judge how good they've been on how many goals they've racked up on the stat sheet.

Croad was good against the Kangas, pretty good last week, didn't have much of a chance against Richmond but did alright when moved up the ground and struggled against WC. Sure he's not doing what you would expect from someone earning as much as him but there's no way he should be dropped. It's a team game. Last week, Croad stepped up first and last quarter, Longmuir stepped up in the middle 2 quarters.

Why on earth would you drop Croad but keep Waterhouse in the side? Is Waterhouse going to be a part of our future?

And What does Connolly have to do with this? Was he there when any of their contracts were being negotiated? If you were going to drop them, who would you replace them with? The oppostition coach would be doing cartwheels if Croad and especially Farmer were dropped.

You've got to be kidding mate. Thank god you're not the coach. Just because the stat sheet said Croad-: 2 goals doesn't mean he didn't have a good game. If you were going to drop him after last week, you may as well drop half the team. Croad showed he really wanted to improve by attacking the ball hard, leadning hard and chasing players down.

I agree he is not earning his salary at the monent but he definitely shouldn't be dropped. The match comitee are in the best place to judge and their not going to drop him either.

Bottom line, footy is a team game and we've kicked over 20 goals twice in the last 3 weeks. Something must be going right in the forward line. I'd rather everyone chip in with 2 and 3 rather than 1 person kick 10.

I agree with Kenny and Jumper. Just because their performances may not equate to their salary doesn't mean they should be dropped. Farmer was one of our best against the Kangaroos and has had several other handy games. Not to forget it's hard for a player of Farmer's ilk to have such an impact when our midfield is getting thrashed like against Richmond and the E-Girls. Croad played well in the first and last quarters of last week and worked well with Longmuir to cause headaches for the opposition defence. Croad and Farmer are easily in our best 22. Waterhouse, on the other hand, I have less time for. He does deserve more of an opportunity considering he's just returned from a serious knee injury but he will not contribute as much as guys like Croad and Farmer in the long term.

Based on current form, Walker or Waterhouse should be dropped and Haines recalled.

I'd agree. When McPharlin comes back and if no-one else was injured, I'd bring him back for Clive. As much as I like Clive and like seeing him do well, I think it would be better for the team. Not because he's been bad because he's been as good as you could expect from him but just for the team balance. It's really out of Clive or Sandilands and I'd keep Sandilands because he is good backup for Simmonds.

Yeah well said Sabre, picks 152, 289, 559 would defintely put us in the running for the premiership?
