Where did this come from? Im calling you on this.

I've been doing some property work and met the the building company behind the block who hire the actual foreman. Keith used to be a foreman and was on the original series but made countless errors and was subsequently fired. However, Channel 9 loved the way he was portrayed and acted on the show as the tough/bad guy. He was subsequently hired to be the shows 'foreman' merely being told what to say and do (ie being confrontational) by the actual foreman on the site. This is why on many occasions he never answers a direct question the contestants put to him and says 'I'll get back to you' 'I'll check with so and so' etc.

I wonder if this was the case in the all Stars, as Dan was constantly taking the piss out of Keith and Duncan telling him how he would be a superior forman on the site.

And it was plain to see last week when he had no idea about the waterproofing and wanted all the tilling torn down.

I didn't hear that but it would make sense if more people are finding out now. Once you know then you can see every week where he really has no idea.

Exactly right. Keith couldn't say anything contrary so just went along with it all.

Haha, I'm not interested in making a big deal about it to other media outlets. I doubt they would even run a story about it. Not really newsworthy if you ask me. Although I guess lesser stories have been broadcast before.

On another note I was always more interested in the renovation side of the show but now it focuses too heavily on ads and the personalities. Not as interested in the show anymore.

bolded part - fair enough. however, i do think there is a bit of interest or else why you wouldnt have brought it up.

all reality shows play on "real people". singing contests was supposed to be about creating an artist. even the voice (this is THE VOICE!) was about listening not seeing. but as soon as voters take control (i.e producers) the winner is not about their vocal ability anymore.

similarly, the block started off with focus on renovating. now as you said its about ads and contestants creating their own profile.

No interest in the sense of taking it to media outlets. I thought people on here might be interested. I actually thought more people knew about this originally hence why I never explained it all in my first post.

It's just a shame the show has gone this way. I will still watch it but I record it and fast forward a lot.

And on the rival show, a woman rang 3AW rumour file last week saying she was the next door neighbour of one of the houses that was renovated in "one" week, but all up they (other builders) were there for 7 weeks. So if that is true maybe both 7 and 9 would rather keep it all played down.

Like I originally said, he used to be a foreman but apparently made too many mistakes and was removed from the actual 'foreman' position and rehired as actor.

I think that one was pretty obvious, in the first house they had to concrete the entire floor...and we the viewers were meant to believe that they got a truck out the same day, got it all poured in the same afternoon and that it dried almost instantly. Ok then...
