I note that you don't address the facts in my post. We have a significantly lower supporter base than Richmond's yet have a higher average home attendance. But you think that that's quite acceptable. Not only that, you deride Melbourne supporters for not turning up to games LOL.Get a clue, pal.
We've won our last 3 and aren't likely to play finals. Our attendances have nothing to do with a taste of finals.
Btw, I wouldn't talk too much about last year. Unlike us, your home and overall crowds have dropped, despite the excitement surrounding your list and progress.![]()
Reckon it might have something to do with the Dees having played home games against big drawing sides in Collingwood(67000) Richmond(45000) and Essendon(49000) while Richmond have only had 1 home game against a big drawing side in Carlton(72000).
Interesting to note that in our away games to both Essendon and the Pies we've played in from of over 64000 on both occassions. Now given our last 5 home games against the Pies have averaged over 60000 and the last 5 against the Dons have averaged just under 53000 it would be fair to say that if we did have home games against these 2 this year we would yet again leave the Dees way behind like we have every year since 2005 averaging between 8-13000 more fans to our home games than the Dees.
Average Home Crowds last 6 seasons.
2010 - Richmond 37425(currently 15th) Melbourne 38010(currently 10th)
2009 - Richmond 40782(15th) Melbourne 27570(16th)
2008 - Richmond 43548(9th) Melbourne 30777(16th)
2007 - Richmond 38255(16th) Melbourne 29537(14th)
2006 - Richmond 42929(9th) Melbourne 34520(7th)
2005 - Richmond 35800(12th) Melbourne 39869(7th)
In 07 & 09 when both were in the bottom 3 we outdrew them by 13212(09) & 8718(07) how do you explain the lack of passion shown by Demons fans in those years?
The simple fact is now that the Dees are starting to show a little bit of form the Range Rover brigade have crawled out of the woodwork and are starting to attend a few games, whereas Tigers fans will show up week after week year after year regardless of the results.

Get a clue, pal.
