Another shocking display from the umps this weekend. I counted at least 3 times when they pointed the wrong way when awarding free kicks. They are complete muppets. It's like every week there are massive howlers of mistakes. I think this year is the worst year of umpiring in my living memory. Surely Gieschen will get the sack at the end of the year.

I was going to take note of the umpiring mistakes noting the time of play, but these guys were so bad I just gave up. They were just hopeless, but the score wasn't close so this hasn't been a topic for discussion.

How about the Stanton fifty metre? We get awarded a fifty cause Jetta threw the ball into Jackson's head and was deemed as not returning the ball correctly.....Umpires are clueless not that Im complaining in this instance.

It was because Cotchin picked up and then just dropped the footy.

It was great to see him take the game on as soon as he got the ball and then for his confidence to be crushed with that decision is just horrible. Love to see Giechen defend that

Cotchin was dead unlucky. Of course, he never should have touched the ball, but I felt his dropping it was instinctive rather than out of spite. But of the three goals that Richmond got in the third quarter, two were from "Kum Shaw" frees. It could have changed the whole run of the game, but instead served to inspire the Bombers.

I can't believe it. Gieschen's admitted that the umpire was wrong in the Dyson decision!!! He admits that Dyson's disposal was a correct handball!!!

If you discount that goal, and the other when Ricky was pinged for holding the ball when he wasn't, you will appreciate how poor Richmond's third quarter really was. Essendon ran harder and harder, and Richmond was just relying on mistakes (including the ump's). I have already watched the replay of the second half twice and the more you watch it, the more you see how Essendon lifted.
