Good:

-A win is always nice
-Dougie- BOG for mine and probably his best all round performance of all time
-Goodwin's tackling in the 1st half was outstanding
-Van Berlo- Making up for last weeks abysmal effort
-Bock- Comprehensively smashed Brown, while he is injured, he is out there. -The ebst thing was he didn't try to run it from HB, he just negated Brown
-Walker's left foot goal was a nice highlight

Bad:

-Edwards- Mate, thanks for everything, but its time to step down and let Armstrong have your spot for the year
-2nd quarter wasn't too flash

Ugly:

-Umpiring both ways were horrible. A few lowlights- Dougie getting done for running too far. VB knocking the ball from Blacks hands as he was going back. Staker not getting a free for his tackle on Porps

Good:

- An unexpected win, pleasant surprise
- Douglas, well, he's getting better and better
- Walker standing up when it counted with two terrific goals
- Danger is dangerous
- Bock, keeping Brown at bay
- Increased pressure
- Macca's goals
- Played offensively and learned from last weeks catastrophe

Bad:
- Probably the second quarter

Ugly:
- The umpires should well be a lock for this category

GOOD:
-Richard Douglas
-Gunstons 1st goal... is always great to being a new player into the team. In dry weather he would have taken 4or5 marks. I think he'll be a find!
-The Mac Attack
-Taylor Walker doin it his way!
-Decent team effort on the chase, tackle, pressure tip!
-Ben Rutten.... u r a star! Just a rock at the back.

BAD
- Feel sorry for Cook... I don't think he feels like he deserves to be in the team... he's just a yard off the pace of the game. He atleast keeps having a go, and unless I am unaware of some secret role he is playing don't think he can be in the side next week.

I don't usually add to this but....

GOOD

Douglas, man I have liked him all year, I never doubted, HE BELONGS.....

Danger, He was instrumental, may have been quiet in a few patches but just seems to do it when needed.. He is by far my fav player, I will be devastated if he ever left, he should be the next captain, I disagree with the other threads he belongs getting the hard ball...His goals were from perseverance and class..

GUNNA, mate, welcome and enjoy your extended stay (Sorry forgot Neil drops you after a sub 95 possession game though)

WINNING WELL
Winning when you need to, last year we knew how, winning this year seems hard?? Apply todays game to Melb, Port games and we win easily??

BAD

Edwards, I hate saying it also but, Jaensch or Sloane can easily fill your error ridden bad decision making performances now, love ya mate but do the Kirk thing now....RETIRE...

DOUGHTY, See above and add the softness he now adds, blah blah to last week, I didn't get to watch, we were hammered so who cares anyway?? What were you thinking, the goal post would tackle you? SEEYA...

UGLY

Commentators, wow they want us to lose???

Umpires, we should have won by a lot more, TIP and Danger should feel angered among others, well they didn't get their way, we beat 25 men today, or 22 and 3 misfits however you look at it..

The Good

Douglas - a terrific game. Effort + for 4 quarters. Very happy with that, although still goes to ground quickly when chasing.

Walker - This is a simple man. Do not confues him. Put him in the forward 50, givehim very basic instructions and let him back himself. The stuff ups he has are when he is in two minds between trying to do the 'team' thinking and his instinctive goal kicking. Just let him back himself.

VB - Great game full of run

Maric - Tries hard all day, but REALLY needs support.

McLeod - Give him the ball in space and he's the best in the comp (just don't ask him to win the ball first...)

Bock - Smashed one legged Brown

Rutten - Fev got some cheap goals and some arse, other than that Rutten had his measure pretty easily

Danger - Just a champ. Like I have said before, if he could get 20 possies a game he'd win the Brownlow.

Gunston - Really like the look of him. So skinny he probably didn't get wet, but really has something to take forward. Play him again and again and for the rest of the season.

Petrenko - Love what he does. Looking more comfortable and really puts it all on the line

The Bad

Thompson - Happily trade him. Foot and Hand skills are crap. Captain Ineffective. GC what are you offering?

Davis - I rate him very highly, but not really offering much at the moment. Time for a rest back in SANFL. I'd bring McKernan in as back up ruck/forward and push Stevens back.

Doughty - Gee what has happened? Gone backwards at a million miles an hour.

The Ugly

Edwards - OMG. Will someone please put him out of his misery? Anyone can replace him, ANYONE...

Cook - Just plain crap. Poor disposals and poor decision making. Replace by Armstrong.

Agree with all of the above.

The ULTRA UGLY:

1/2 time interview on Fox with Chris Knights, he implied or said he needs surgery on his foot. Leigh Colbert said to him, something about missing 10 weeks and Knighta didn't disagree.

I'm abit uncertain about this because I was so shocked.:thumbsd:

Davis - I rate him very highly, but not really offering much at the moment. Time for a rest back in SANFL. I'd bring McKernan in as back up ruck/forward and push Stevens back.

Doughty - Gee what has happened? Gone backwards at a million miles an hour.

Though Davis was good today actually. Not a heap of the ball but won his position and used it very cleverly. Everything he touches always seems to go to advantage due to his foot skills and awareness. Very clever player who just needs a body so he can compete in the air (where he is more than capable). Keep him in the team unless his form goes severely downhill - he's doing a lot right and the experience will do him wonders.

Also, thought Doughty started something shocking but bounced back well in the second half. Still struggling offensively but his intensity was great after half-time. More of that Dogga thanks.

Geez guys, ease up on Cook. He'll make it in time. Edwards is the big worry. Every time he gains possession he gets caught, turns it over or a combination of both, as a 300+ gamer. I'm beginning to wonder if he can run the season out, looks so severely off it.

Cook might make it, he does have some intensity and has a crack, but he turns it over a lot. At this stage he may holod his spot until Symes is back. Given how Symes went yesterday that might only be a week or two away.

I'm also starting to get the feeling that we might make a big run in the 2nd half of the season. Some of our guys are looking fitter and back in a bit of form. If we add Symes, Johncock and Vince and then perhaps Jaensch or Sloane or Sellar we might be getting very competitive. Probably just enough to ensure we finish 9th!

Not sold on Schmidt. Lacks poise under pressure and has little pace.

His disposal is great but don't think he has enough tools to have a long-term career.

Wow really? I thought he worked really hard in close and managed to extract the ball to advantage on a number of occassions. Laid some big tackles too.

GOOD:
- Crows win.
- Douglas - BOG effort.
- vB had a great game, which is good to see because he's been needing to step up over the past few weeks and just hasn't.
- Walker playing well in our forward line with 2 crucial goals.
- McLeod and Dangerfield: when these two had the ball, they looked unstoppable, especially Dangerfield's passage of play where he broke past 4 or 5 opponents to get the handball out.
- Bock was good on Brown (goalless), despite Brown being under an injury cloud.
- Rutten worked hard all day on Fevola. Fevola has always been a tough opponent for Rutten (back in Carlton days), but he did fairly, despite Fevola kicking a bag of 5.
- Gunston's first goal in his debut game. loved it!
- played attacking football; none of that chipping around in the backlines (i did not see this happen even once today - good on ya Crows).
- overall good team effort.
- yay, i got the tip right. finally my faith in the Crows has paid off.

BAD:
- the kids: Cook, Petrenko (5 clangers), Davis (Gunston gets the benefit of the doubt because it's his debut)...Cook and Pets try hard, but don't seem to be contributing a whole lot at the moment. Davis had a few good moments in the third quarter, but did absolutely nothing in the other 3 quarters.
- Edwards looked slow and just didn't do a whole lot. Doughty is probably in the same boat at the moment. i want to see Sloane come in for one of these 2 (preferably Edwards).

UGLY:
- Reilly's first possession being a clanger kick straight to the opposition leading to their first goal 9at least he recovered and played well for the rest of the game).
- some of the umpiring; though because they weren't paid both ways (or Crows got some gimme ones later on makes up for them), i can let it go this time.
- Brisbane have lost 5 on the trot.

Whilst I agree that Edwards time has come, in his defence maybe a lot of the fault can be placed on the person giving the ball to Edwards who is clearly not in a better position?

The good:
Macca - 2 classy goals, our only performing old player
Danger - Hard at it, can kick goals, just needs some cheap ball to break the lines
Mackay - Good to see him back, had a good first half
Intensity - up on previous weeks by so much, how was this not addressed sooner?
Walker - A casual 50m left foot goal after a 60m bomb, a star
Bock/Rutten - Back to basics for them, defend first attack second, and did well. Fev is a superstar though, he was always gonna get a few out of nowhere
Douglas - most complete game of his career, knows where the goals are now!

Bad/Ugly:
Stevens - i don't see anything in him and never have, he sits in the forward line doesn't kick a goal, goes back and is too slow, sure hes a good mark, but very much a non factor, let Davis swing around the ground
Cook - deplorable- not clean, bad decision making, kicks like a twelve year old, not a very clever player, not good overhead like everyone claims, needs a lot of work but i certainly don't see much in him, how he played instead of Armstrong i'll never know.
Schmidt - Plays loose, very very soft, not clever, a touch slow, we don't need a worse version of Doughty
Edwards/Goodwin - Make so many mistakes that won't show up on a stat sheet. Go to ground far too much for experienced players, handball to players under the pump.

- What impressed me is how our young players stood up and played very well, especially Dougie, Danger, VB (burnt it a bit), and how our pressure was intense on their players. But i'd be happy to see us drop the bad/ugly players when we get a few others back.

Yeah that goalpost shirk from Doughty was a ****ing disgraceful effort, particularly from a player in the leadership group. Can't get Dangerfield into a leadership position soon enough. Flashback to old school pre-2005 Micky "Marshmallow" Doughty. Still, I agree that his 2nd half was better. Hopefully someone gave him a spray for costing us a goal like that, because he certainly toughened up a bit - some very nice spoils in the last quarter. Still, he's really not offering enough offensively, and that shirk was just embarrassing.

BAD

Edwards, I hate saying it also but, Jaensch or Sloane can easily fill your error ridden bad decision making performances now, love ya mate but do the Kirk thing now....RETIRE...

Its time someone took him aside and said unless your output improves, no further games after the mid season break (round 13)

DOUGHTY, See above and add the softness he now adds, blah blah to last week, I didn't get to watch, we were hammered so who cares anyway?? What were you thinking, the goal post would tackle you? SEEYA...

Doughty needs to go. That wimpy effort in the second quarter, not putting his body on the line. Can you imagine Dangerfield not doing that? No way, Doughty is the biggest squib out there.

Agree, now is the time to make the hard decisions and especially so after you have had a good win.

I think he makes the wrong decisions now, and his body is starting to fail him.

Agreed... but more times than not, he appears to run straight into the opposition which indicated he shouldn't have been given the ball in the first place.

The Good:

-4 points

-Douglas - Amazing what can happen when a player is played in his correct position.

The Bad:

-Tackling - 58-85. Still well below standard. Still not working hard enough.
