One potential upside we do have amongst all this gloom is that we have yet to see the wares of a decent contingent of players

  • Connors
  • Collins
  • Casserely
  • Clingan
  • Peterson

add to that, a couple that have only dipped their toes

Riewoldt
Hughes

absentees in Polo and Lids

If a couple of these unknowns could make a real impact with another pre season under the belt then it could be the push we need..:thumbsu:

thats cool man. But in reality, what we are now hanging onto is some kind of chameleon party trick to happen next year.
Not saying it isnt a possiblity, just saying its the epitome of optimism akin to the second coming of christ to save the tiger masses. ;)

not its not cogg, its what you can add to the next batch of draft pix in terms of players that we can continue to turn over until we find the mix, or alternaetly, we're not quite at the bottom of the barrell just yet...give us a month or so after they debut and we might:p

you can't play all the kids at once what will they learn all loosing together, there better off in the vfl at least learning to win, at times our vfl team looks as accomplished as our afl team.

I don't undestand why hughes is being left out though and why lids was being played away from the ball so often before he hurt his hand. If your going to play him get him near the ball at every opportunity.

Im sure Wallis had his reasons but if anyone could explain it to me?

  • Connors - If he keep his head will a fantastic sweeper of the ball, quality.
  • Collins - Lots of things to like about him, could become a back-up rover to Foley in the future, he's really bulking up.
  • Casserely - Back flank would be a gem place for him.
  • Clingan - He has lots of work to do but is very very very motivated to succeed. Let's hope he does, I'm not too confident.
  • Peterson - With a leap, marking ability and skills like that after having OP for 4 years this kid could be something reeeeeeally special.
add to that, a couple that have only dipped their toes

Riewoldt - Leading Coburg Goalkicker, would be eying that spot Richo hold with envy. Can also play back.
Hughes - Sticky hands and love 'em. Now all Terry has to do is play him in the damn right position instead of treating him like shit!

My thoughts on them for what it's worth.

thx PR, where have you seen collins, he hasnt played has he , but I often hear of him being touted as a likely type...good to hear he's put some beef on a skinny frame

There was vision on the internet of his form last year which was decent, apart from that simply relying on match reports outlining him.

He has played for Coburg this year until round 10ish but now has groin troubles (*cough* O.P. *cough) and probably wont play again this year unfortunately.

We're grasping at straws now. The listed guys who haven't played are our hope! It's sad but I agree. What else is there?

They are the only ones who havent played a game yet but those who are at Coburg who have had only a handful or none this year are. . .

Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls - Doesnt need footskills, needs decision-making improvement. Once he gets a decent hold on decision making I think he'll concentrate more on his kicking and it'll be fine. Starting to play harder which is good. Needs to play on the wing and given licence to run rather than HBF imo. Wont be seen until next year, with hopefully his first pre season finally under his belt. :thumbsu:

Danny Meyer - Needs to get the bloody footy. Superior footskills but has trouble finding it, not looking good.

Luke McGuane - Key backman in the making. Cant believe he isnt back in the team yet. HE IS ACCOUNTABLE!:eek: Its true. He'll play this week after a top few weeks with the Burgers. He better anyway.

unfortunately a couple of those weaknesses cant be easily rectified, not often I hear of players that used to be crook decision makers but are now pretty good, likewise..players that could never get a kick yet now get leather poisoning....prefer to fine tune those that cant stop knocking up possies but might be rough around the edges...that my friend is material to work with
