Atkinson, Jarrod - 6 games. Still building up and starting to show promising signs. Has stringed together 6 consecutive games since kicking off his season against the Hawks. Rating: 5.5
Bellchambers, Tom - 0 games. We wait in hope for the Bell-end. Rating: N/A
Carlisle, Jake - 0 games. Unlikely to get a game this year. Rating: N/A
Colyer, Travis - 4 games. Some promising signs along with some genuine grass-burning speed. A scattered form line with some question marks over disposal execution. Rating: 5.0 (a good but not spectacular first year thus far)
Daniher, Darcy - 0 games. Yet to feature but not might be that far. Rating: N/A
Davey, Alwyn - 8 games. An ordinary start to the year, resulting in getting dropped for three rounds but returned with a bang against Hawthorn. Has kicked 10 goals and laid 40 tackles in his last 6 games. Without doubt the most important small forward at the moment. Rating: 8.0
Dempsey, Courtenay - 11 games. Just entered a dip in form in the last few weeks after a good start to the season. Consistency a massive question as he was in AA-form this time last year but faded badly. Only 4 tackles laid in his last 3 games. Needs to lift. Rating: 6.5
Dyson, Ricky - 6 games. Has been out of action for over a month due to injury. Was solid but not jaw-dropping to start the season. Massive game against Carlton and a few other good outings. Decent effort but needs to pick up to get back in and stay in. Rating: 6.0 (injury affected slightly)
Fletcher, Dustin - 10 games. Refuses to die. Brilliant form and throws his body time and time again. Second half will be a massive challenge to keep him fit. Rating 9.0
Gumbleton, Scott - 11 games. General (realistic) expectations were for him to play a dozen games and get a good feel for it. He's already played 11
. Has learned quickly that he is drawing the very best KPs to run with him. 15.10 from 11 games is a solid start. Only 21 marks from his last 5 games, needs to boost that but it will come naturally. Rating: 8.5
Hardingham, Kyle - 0 games. We are waiting. Rating: N/A
Hille, David - 11 games. Has a had a great season so far and showing few (if any) signs of a knee injury. One or two games where he has gone missing but otherwise very consistent. Fantastic work rate and loves to fill a hole up forward or down back (ahem). Rating: 8.0
Hocking, Heath - 11 games. No surprises he's played 11 games. Built like a brick shithouse and runs like a bull. Has played some huge games for us this year and looks set to cement a place in the 22. Rating: 8.5
Hooker, Cale - 8 games. Eagerly await his return after fantastic showing in the first half of the season. Our best KP defender thus far. Consistency has been a trait. Rating: 9.0
Houli, Bachar - 2 games. Found the ball a fair bit in his two games earlier this season but ball use continues to be a worry. Anyone's guess as to where he'll fit into our plans both for the remainder of this season and going forward. Rating: 4.0
Howlett, Ben - 7 games. Has done almost everything that was asked of him considering he's a rookie. 34 tackles in his last 5 games as been a feature of his defensive efforts. Pressure will be on to hold his form and will undoubtedly be subject to unfair selection as more senior and favoured midfielders begin to settle in to the season. Rating: 6.5
Hurley, Michael - 8 games. An ordinary start to the season and perhaps a victim of both expectation and positional utilisation. 8 goals for the year, half came against Hawthorn, with some alright (if questionable) efforts so far down back. Needs to lift. Rating: 5.5
Jetta, Leroy - 4 games. 7 goals thus far and a brilliant showing against the Dogs places Leroy in the good books after a late kick off to the season. May very well be the perfect partner in crime with Davey as he adds another dimension to the forward line. I feel he will feature more prominently in the midfield as the season goes on and he builds up the confidence within himself and the coaching staff. Rating: 7.0 (only 4 games remember)
Laycock, Jason - 0 games. Poor bloke to have suffered a season, and probably career (@essendon), ending injury. Rating: N/A
Lonergan, Sam - 7 games. Can't fault his attack on the ball but apart from that there's little to like about his season thus far. One can't help but feel his filling up space for an injured player (Reimers/Dyson) to return. Rating: 4.5 (harsh, but fair)
Long, Anthony - 0 games. Looking forward to seeing him play a game or two in the second half. Rating: N/A
Lovett-Murray, Nathan - 7 games. Often struggles with consistency after a lay off from injury or suspension. Has been excellent when on song this year and has racked up the possies. Awesome engine and so far Waton's best inside-mid partner in the middle. Has been forced to play a bit more down back in the absence of KPs. Rating: 8.0
Melksham, Jake - 7 games. Inconsistent finding the ball but has proven why we picked him at #10 when he uses it. Expect him to be rotated in and out of the team but given this is his first year he's put up a solid showing. Rating: 7.5
McVeigh, Mark - 8 games. An ordinary start but has found his feet and is settling in for a big season. Has grown to prominence down back where his experience (for a small defender) has been sorely missed at times. Likely to stay there as there is no injury crisis to our midfielders. Rating: 7.5
Monfries, Angus - 9 games. Continues with consistency issues, even after a decent start to the season. Won't need to fight hard to get back in the team, as the coaches love him, but may have a challenge on his hands [strike]if[/strike] when Williams comes in and starts hitting his straps. Rating: 7.5
Myers, David - 5 games. Injuries to KP defenders not helping his claim to becoming a prominent midfielder. Has done reasonably well over the last month but has a long way to go. Rating: 5.5
Neagle, Jay - 1 game. When Harry Potter asks "Who is the wizard thy not name?", the muggles say "Neagle" for fear of seeing him again. A poor preseason but worked hard to be fit for game 1. That turnover continues to haunt his selection. Monsterous hill to climb from here, especially with Ryder and Hille being rotated out of the forward line rather than off the bench or down back. Rating: 1.0
Pears, Tayte - 8 games. Continues to rise to prominence, if given a bath by Riewoldt of the Jack variety. But in fairness, his first game back from injury. Not quite in the same form as '09 but not far from it. Hoping for a big second half. Rating: 7.0
Prismall, Brent - 8 games. I thought I heard stump mic pick up "can't bowl, can't throw". Can't kick, can't think. Poor decision maker and desperately needs to rectify this issue. Could compliment Stanton nicely on the opposite wing if he finds his game. Rating: 6.0
Reimers, Kyle - 4 games. Showed a bit in the first month of footy but injury has prevented any effort to find his niche in the team. Once fit, should be up for a big 2nd half. Rating: 5.5
Ryder, Patrick - 11 games. Has played every game and scored in 8 games for a return of 12 goals. Very ordinary start to the season but has found some hot form. The pressure of '09 will well and truly return for the next fortnight as becomes the clear first choice ruckman. Laying plenty tackles, tacking enough marks and kicking a few goals suggesting his round-the-ground efforts have been right up there of any AFL ruckman. Rating: 8.0 (a slow starter for '10)
Slattery, Henry - 7 games. Probably our best small defender with Mcveigh. Played a blinder against Cyril and has been decent for the remainder of the season before a shocker against Port the following week. Pressures on for a player who divides opinion more than most as to whether he can assert himself back in the 22 as a key small defender. Rating: 6.0
Slattery, Tyson - 0 games. Rating: N/A
Stanton, Brent - 9 games. Has given us some massive games and provides our midfield with a bit more assurance than otherwise would be afforded to any other midfielder. Only needs to get fit once again before firing. Question marks over his back injury and the extent it may play in the 2nd half. Rating: 8.5
Still, Michael - 0 games. May be a long time before we see him. Rating: N/A
Watson, Jobe - 11 games. Captain Consistent. Each game is pretty much identical to the last. Has done extremely well at the clearances but desperately needs a partner to take the weight off a tag. Rating: 9.0
Welsh, Andrew - 7 games. A very good game to mark his return after a gutless suspension serve. Has done some important tagging jobs but by no means a certainty in our best 22. Pretty hard to rate him but he should be primed for a big 2nd half given his one month lay off. Rating: 6.5
Williams, Mark - 4 games. I'm justttttttt ... not seeing the work rate. An encouraging showing against the Blues but since then it's been mixed results down at Bendigo. We need to work with him to get back into the senior team doing what he does best. No doubting what he can do for the team... but what can he do for himself? Rating: 5.0
Winderlich, Jason - 11 games. An average first five rounds but has taken the next step in the next 6 games. In excellent form and should look to continue to be our #1 attacking midfielder who breaks the lines. Has handled the "Lovett" role reasonably well. Rating 7.5
Zaharakis, David - 11 games. 15 goals from 11 games but some questionable work ethic. Has not failed to kick a goal on any outing. At the start of the season he was earmarked as having the most upside of any young attacking midfielder coming through. Works predominantly inside 50 and perhaps destined to remain there? Perhaps needing to be rotated further up the field but he is kicking the goals. Rating 7.5
