I wonder if Gary will get a talking to by the management for letting that slip...I actually do because it isn't that important all things considered but I would have thought the management wouldn't really want players offloading club info on twitter to any random twit.

I really think 31 will be held for a couple more years to be honest. If anyone I agree it may go to Jack as if he is anything like his brother will be definitely cut in that mold.

Surely you guys won't be putting Tippett in the No.1, how much pressure would that be? He's going into 8 according to my sources.

Surely the Bloods culture doesn't allow for No.1?!

1 isn't the most significant to our club. So I don't see the big deal if he get's it.

I'd be just a tad more concerned if they kicked Bird out of 14 and put him in there though.

Barry Hall and Mark Seaby are the previous two players to hold number one at our club.

One forward and one ruckman.

Seaby is a forward/ Ruckman.

I think he would be a good fit for the number.

He would be a decent chance if he wants the number one but personally i hope noone gets it.

Numbers have been announced - Dean gets Twin Towers (22) and was also drafted at 22 at the age of 22. Tippett 8, Membrey 1, Cunningham 7, Jack 33 etc. Marsh gets 31.

So the club has decided to give the number 31 out as it would any available number and let the next player in Marsh make his own history with that number and not attempt carry on Kirk's. Wise and overall correct move

I look forward to reading about the pressure that will be on Membrey since he wears #1.

Membrey, who kicked 54 goals at TAC Cup level for the Gippsland Power and Vic Country in 2012, said he hoped to one day match the success of one of the club’s most famous forwards.

“I’ll have to see how I go and hopefully I’ll be able to match the good players who have worn it before me,” Membrey said.

“There are some big names in there and I’ve had some comments already from family and a couple of mates back home who have asked if I’m going to be the next big Barry Hall, but I’m sure that is something that is a long way down the track.”
