Saw this idea on Facebook. I usually don't jump on the bandwagon for this sort of thing, but this is one idea that I really support. Would be great to pump some atmosphere and loud cheering into Adelaide Oval.
(Mods - Feel free to put in The Backyard if that's more appropriate)

Here's a description from their Facebook page:

Are you getting frustrated with the lack of noise and colour at Crows games? Do you feel a sense of embarrassment when an opposition cheersquad becomes louder than the rest of the stadium? Are you tired of being told to sit down and shut up by fans who think they are in a library?

If you have a pride and passion for the Adelaide Crows Football Club and want to be a part of a new and exciting Crew that are willing to go above and beyond with their support on match days and make Crows matches at Adelaide Oval the most feared challenge in the AFL, well look no further.

Welcome to 'The PRIDE'!

Born from a vision amongst a core group of Crows fanatics, The Pride aims to create an atmosphere at Adelaide Oval like no other. Think colossal flags, banners, chants and activities throughout the year, The PRIDE aims to make all of this happen. Watch this space as we develop our group and hold onto your seatbelts because come 2014 at Adelaide Oval, you will get caught up in The PRIDE!

Anyone interested?

I hope it works. It's pretty dead in the Members' area where I sit. It would be good to get some groups together there, as well as in the outer. (Port's cheer squad looked much stronger than ours at the Showdown. We definitely need a lot more large flags and banners concentrated behind the goals.)

I don't know if I'd be much value. I usually have my Crows transistor ear buds in (member's gift 1993, the year after the yellow A hats) so I can listen to 5AA during the games. I like to shut out the crowd noise if anything. Also I leave early at the end of the game so that I can beat the traffic. I don't go to night games (finish too late) and I never go if it's raining. Sunday lunchtime games can GTFO too. I do go nuts when the Crow-o-meter lights up though. Fantastic stuff!

Couldn't the club just record some crowd noise and play it through the PA system during games?

This is what it has spawned from. Apparently, a group of supporters were ashamed that the Port cheer squad were louder than ours, and our crowd, and that's how this campaign started. The entire ground seems to be dead, in terms of loud and passionate cheering. I hope the new oval can reignite people's passion.
Is this the tribe mk 11?

Not quite. From what I gather, they're looking at having a cheering group within each stand, rather than all in one spot.

Just joined up. Seems to be really taking off in the early stages. They got 50 odd to a pub for the Bulldogs game last weekend and are giving away prizes for kids that make the best banners/flags for the last home game. Seems to be a bit of tension between them and the official cheersquad but not sure why - combine the two and we'll get back to the days of the 97/98 when not only the cheersquad was loud, but the atmosphere around the stadium was much better.

Long overdue and I hope it works out, because the level of noise and colour at our games is pretty poor in comparison to other clubs.
