Well, all you old timer Pink Floyd fans......................

Going to Roger Waters "The Wall" tonight.

Should be absolutely brilliant.

You young 'uns that didn't grow up in that era don't know what you missed out on!!!!!

(Hope my pacemaker holds up)

I'm looking forward to this nearly as much as I was to the 2008 GF, only had standing room tickets then, thankfully I've got a good seat.

Wish Dave Gilmore and Nick Mason was playing with him but hey, world peace and hell freezing over has yet to occur so I probably have a little while to wait (yeah I know they did a charity gig or 2 but a full blown tour, HUH)

Unfortunately, growing up and going to school in the eastern suburbs, Pink Floyd was the band of choice for all the angst-ridden types desperate to cultivate the appearance of rebellion. I did, however, see Pink Floyd about 2o years ago at the Tennis Centre - this giant pig flew across the stage and got stuck half-way!

Enjoy the show - always great to see bands live that you really like.

Cheers Grizz
Music was brilliant!

Not sure what Chogo thought but my impression was the production was over the top!

Trying not to be too over the top, Football future premierships aside, I can die happy now!

The encore and lack of further encore wasn't what I would have done, would really have liked something form Animals or wish you were here as an Encore.

Otherwise it was Awesome (with a capital A) if I could get tickets I'd consider going again and I don't like spending money on concerts, I've been to about 4 in my life that I paid for! (cos I'm a cheap prick!)

I headed along on Tuesday. Cheap prick like you Chogo with tickets through work. Spectacular visuals and great music, although there are only two songs on The Wall I'm a big fan of. Thankfully justice was done to Comfortably Numb. But I have to say I was a bit dissapointed the band was hidden for over half the gig and Roger Waters isn't the greatest front man.
I saw Pink Floyd 20 years ago, with you Grizz I think. Preferred that by a long way.

We did indeed.

You remember all of the pretend angst ridden middle-class kids, Langers?

Sure do.
I hadn't listened to the album for close on 20 years and the concert brought back a lot of memories.

Grizzlym Jnr is right into AC/DC right now. Loves 'em.

Back in Black his favourite?

You'll have to get him along to see them next time they tour. I saw them two tours back and they're great live.

Haha, yes. I'll have to look you up for that.

Off to cricket now. He's almost smashed the plasma.

Was the Killer pumping the piano?

Since 06, almost every” legend in their own dunny” group/star have shared his stage and recording studio hoping that the reflected glory would revive their own inept careers.

Hey, in what genre would you place PF
Progressive Rock
70,s Rock
Or
Ostentatious Boredom. Only kidding fellow groupies.

Who is the Killer? Learn your history.

WH - Picked him in one.

His 06 CD "Last Man Standing" featured the remnants of many of the great bands of the sixties and 70s such as Keith Richards, Roy Wood, the great Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and many others

His more recent "Mean Old Man" is in a similar vein. Surprisingly 'Last man Standing' was a big hit.

Incidentally both CDs were bloody awful. I wish he had not done them. They detract from his magnificent recordings from 1958 to the late 80s.

Anyone who makes the connection Killer plus Piano = Jerry Lee Lewis deserves a PM from the biggest JLL collector in Australia. I will be in touch. Ssh BIGX and Echols.

Sorry PF fans, I did not mean to derail the thread. I do not mind PF and wish I could see them.

Would any one be interested in a thread where the question is"Name your top ten LPS/ CDs of all time" ?

Go for it, intrigued on what's your desert island select, LMOG.

well back on topic, The Wall was fantastic on Tuesday night at Acer Arena.
The music and the visuals were awesome.
More like a huge theatrical show than a concert.
