Anyone here registered on there? I just discovered it a few days ago. For those who don't know what it is...
You can sign up as either a listener or an artist (or both). There are thousands of artists on there, ranging from the established (Kanye, Daft Punk are on there) to people making music in their bedroom.
As a listener, you get points each day that you log in and can earn extra points by listening to songs off "The Rack". You can then use those points to "discover" and "bump" new songs. If those songs receive more "bumps" from other listeners, then you get more bonus points. As you receive points you gain levels and recognition for being able to spot good songs.
As an artist, you start with a maximum of three tracks on your page but as people discover and bump you, you earn more points, higher levels and can then add more songs to your profile. There are charts and all of that.
Anyway, I think it's a fun way to listen to new music and get heard if you make your own. It just so happens that I make hiphop in my bedroom and have a profile up there...thesixtyone.com/theranger
Bumps would be appreciated
This is not spam. Just check the site out even if you don't like my songs.
