Well, after such a gutsy performance today, I can't see any reason why we can't beat Geelong.

I think the game will be a great measuring stick for us. If we can beat the cats (which whilst I admit will be a battle, I'm very optimistic) I think we a re genuine premiership chance. What's people's thoughts?

with rocca in the team i cant see either why we cant win, and really we are unbeatable at the G.

It should be a good contest. Obviously we match up alright on the Cats, given we flogged them by 102 points last year in one of the most one-sided games of football I have ever witnessed. Seriously, the scoreboard flattered them, as the umpires started giving them those ridiculous free kicks you see when you know the umps are feeling sorry for one team.

Are the Cats a 102-point better side this year?

Time will tell, I guess.

didnt geelong smash st kilda when they played one another, thats all i'm going with at the moment.

Adelaide beat us by over 90 points last year, we beat them by about 2 goals this year.

Richmond beat us by 20 points last year. We beat them by 156 points this year.

I would say last years game means nothing. This will just be a cracking match between the two inform teams of the competition.

That isn't really any way of comparing sides.
If we lost against St Kilda today.. just because Geelong smashed St Kilda would not mean that we would lose to Geelong also. It's all about how the teams match up against one another on the day.

On a curious note, why are your posts always tabbed in?

Rocca back..drop medhurst...he was just awfull today in the wet. you cant half tell he comes from Perth.

Cats have played 1 game at the mcg this year....GO PIES!

They're still going to stretch our backline though... doesn't look as though Clement or Presti will be back, which makes you wonder if they'll bring Brown in to play on Hawkins again? :)

This week we will regain Rocca and maybe rhyce shaw and Prestigicomo.
Will strengthen us no doubt.
If we can beat the cats which i reckon we will, we still are not a premiership contender. Why because,we need a full side come finals time.If we get a top 4 possie,go into the fianls with the likes of clement, presti, buckley, and the rest then yes we will be a huge threat for the flag.
