I am not sure if there has been a thread on this, but say that Murph and Kennedy were available for this years draft instead of last years where would they be picked.

Would they go in the top 5 or would it be considerabley later, considering the depth of this draft im not so sure where they would hypothetically fit in.

Any thoughts?

i'd still take murphy number 1 after what he showed in the first half of the season.

kennedy would be a definite top 10 but probably more towards 8-10.

I mean more based on potential from the u18s and junior footy, before they started their afl seasons, like based on last years knowledge of them before they were drafted where would they go in this years draft?

murphy was the stand out in the national championships last year and no one really challenged him for the number 1 pick last year so he would be a top 5 pick this year.

just going on form before the respective drafts, i believe murphy would have gone at 3 but if recruiters knew how well he'd adapt to afl football it might be a little different. kennedy would probably have gone between 8-14.

This time last year, some "experts" were saying Murphy would've been about pick 8 in the '06 draft.

OH  You almost took the lords name in vein there... and I don't refer to god.

I would suggest he'd be about 5 or 6 if he hadn't played AFL yet. He's under 180 cms and you'd find recruiters would go for Gibbs, Gumbleton, Hansen, Leuenberger and then weigh up whether to go for Thorp, Selwood and Murphy if he where available in this draft, in the same form as last year.

Kennedy would go anywhere from 10-15, on the same criteria. He'd be competing with Jarryd Allen, who probably doesn't have an equal ability in crashing packs nor the ridiculos work ethic of Kennedy.
